Do you know the best time to water your grass? 6am to 10am…why? Watering between these hours is optimal to minimize evaporation & disease risk. This gives this enough time for the water to reach the grass roots to give the grass the nutrients it needs in our climate. Nighttime watering promotes fungal growth. Watering in the late morning into afternoon causes significant water evaporation before the water can get to the grass roots. This can stress the grass which will cause heat damage & drought.
Also…1 inch to 1 1/2 inches of water per week is the right amount.
