What actually happens to your pool after it’s closed for the winter?
A lot more than most homeowners realize.

Just closing the pool doesn’t mean the pool is completely safe until spring.

When temperatures drop and conditions change, there are several things that can go wrong:
• Water left where it shouldn’t be can freeze & expand, putting pressure on plumbing and equipment.
• Small leaks can go unnoticed for months, especially when nobody is regularly checking the system.
• Freeze damage can crack fittings, valves, filters, pumps and other components.
• Changing water chemistry can damage surfaces and equipment or create a much bigger cleanup when the pool opens.
• Leaves, debris and standing water can create problems that are much easier & cheaper to deal with during the winter than after months of neglect.

And the frustrating part?

A lot of these problems start small...
A fitting.
A valve.
A slow leak.
A little water where it shouldn't be.

Before the month comes to an end, we couldn’t let it pass without celebrating the man behind Leak Finders 🥳

Michael has been in the plumbing industry since the '90s, earned his Master Plumber license in 2006, and became certified in leak detection in 2010. After years of experience in the industry, he founded Leak Finders in Sacramento, California in 2017, eventually bringing the business to the KC Metro in 2022.

But Mike's years of experience & everything he’s built along the way, isn't even what makes him special.

It’s the way he genuinely cares about people. Whether it’s solving a complicated leak, helping a customer understand what’s actually going on, or making sure the job is done right, he puts his heart into the work.

Beyond being an owner, he’s also a husband, a dad, and the person who somehow manages to keep all the moving pieces going❤️
