Can you add insulation over what’s already in your attic? Sometimes: yes. ✅

Caledonian Customs can often air-seal and blow new insulation over existing material when it is:
✓ Dry
✓ Level
✓ In decent condition

But damp, compressed, moldy, pest-damaged, or contaminated insulation should be removed and replaced before upgrading.

The order of work matters:
1️⃣ Air-seal gaps and penetrations first.
2️⃣ Add insulation to the appropriate R-value for the Kansas City climate.
3️⃣ Complete the work according to manufacturer specifications and local code.

Done correctly, topping off your attic insulation can help create warmer upstairs rooms, reduce heat escaping through the ceiling, improve room comfort and quiet, and support more effective HVAC performance as winter approaches.

Locally owned and operated in Overland Park, we serve Johnson County and the Kansas City metro with transparent communication, competitive pricing, high-quality materials, skilled craftsmanship, and complete project management, from assessment through cleanup. Customer satisfaction is always our top priority.

💰 Save $250 on an attic insulation upgrade. Qualifying projects may be eligible for up to a 30% Federal Tax Credit. Eligibility and requirements apply, consult a tax professional.
