We surprised a father with $500 for Fatherās Day.
His name is Ocle.
What started as a simple act of appreciation quickly turned into a conversation weāll never forget.
As we talked, Ocle shared that his three children have only been in the United States for about two years and are still learning English. He spoke proudly about how well theyāre doing and the opportunities theyāre working hard to build together as a family.
Then he shared something that really stayed with us.
To provide for their children, he and his wife currently live in different states. He has the kids during the summer, while their mother has them during the school year so they can attend a school they love and continue learning from teachers who have made a meaningful impact on their lives.
Think about that for a moment.
Living apart from the person you love.
Missing birthdays, dinners, and everyday moments together.
Not because you want to.
Because youāre doing everything you can to create a better future for your children.
When we asked what they had planned for Fatherās Day, he told us theyād probably have dinner and spend the day at the beach.
Nothing extravagant.
Just time together.
Because thatās what matters most.
The more we listened, the more we realized Ocle represents something we donāt celebrate enough: the quiet sacrifices parents make every day that nobody sees.
The extra shifts.
The hard decisions.
The things they give up so their children can have more.
Those are the families we want to support.
This wonāt be the last time we see Ocle and his family. Weāre already hoping to create another surprise for them this summer and, if weāre fortunate enough, maybe even find a way to bring their whole family together for some time they truly deserve.
Happy Fatherās Day, Ocle. ā¤ļø
Your children are lucky to have you.
If his story touched you, leave him and his family a message below. Weāll make sure he sees every one of them.
If youād like to support Ocle and his family, we set up a GoFundMe for him. Weād love to send his kids to Disney this summer and can use your help! https://gofund.me/46c68d5b3
