Day 3 of sharing Myrtle Beach memories in celebration of the 20th Anniversary🌴

“We finished up our Aces journey capturing the championship and brought all our families to Ripken Myrtle Beach. Core memory for our team for sure!!”

“Being able to participate in the first Mom’s Home Run Derby. Also seeing my son slide into home to win the game to go to the championship.”

“The camaraderie among our players and parents from our team. That week was full of great moments that have now become fabulous memories! The staff at Ripken Myrtle Beach were very professional and extremely friendly and very helpful. The fields were manicured and spectacular.“

“We are more of a local organization versus an all star compilation of travel teams. We won the turn 2 competition and that infused us with confidence that pushed us all the way into the semi finals. In the round of 16 and 8 we came back from 3+ runs down in the 7th inning in both games including a walk off in the quarterfinals”

Day 2 of sharing Myrtle Beach Memories to celebrate the 20th Anniversary 🌴

“We have had some great times at Ripken Myrtle Beach, but this story takes the top. In July 2023 Jaden attended Tournament at Ripken and was the Home Run Derby Winner. Was such a special memory. Then in Feb 2025 Ripken revealed on social media their new retail store and we quickly saw a familiar picture and face! To make it better, Jaden’s high school team was planning a trip to Ripken that summer for Spring Training. When the team got there it became ritual to to stop and dap up Gibby! Such an amazing memories at Ripken Myrtle Beach.”

“My son’s first experience to Myrtle Beach - Everything from the pool, beach, bonding with teammates, and especially my son playing at Shibe Park, which is the replica stadium of the Philadelphia Phillies where my dad would go to watch them as a kid.”

“For me it’s our small community travel team competing against teams from all over the country, going 5-0 in pool play and then my son pitching in bracket play against a very talented team from Miramar, Fl and him holding them to 3 hits and scoring our teams only run. It was a tough loss 2-1 but it was a great pitching performance. Of course the down time on the beach with our tight knit players and parents is a memory I will always cherish!”

Kicking off The Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach’s 20th Anniversary! We’re looking back at some favorite memories and moments. Over the next few days, we’ll share some stories we’ve collected along the way.

“My connection to Ripken dates back to the very first summer the complex opened. I was fortunate enough to play here in 2006. In 2014, I came back as a coach with my 14U team and finished as the runner-up in the High Tide Tournament.

Now, 20 years after first stepping onto these fields as a player, I have the opportunity to be the Baseball Operations Manager at the Myrtle Beach Complex. It’s been pretty cool to experience Ripken from three different perspectives. First as a player, then as a coach, and now as part of the team helping operate the facility.”

“Head coaching in Myrtle Beach was my last time with this team and my son, Rhyker. During one of our pool play games, the photographer captured our high five as he rounded third base after hitting a homerun. We have done this about 20 times through the years… this is my last from this vantage point.“

“Hitting a bases loaded triple in the 14U Championship game to lead our team to victory”

“My favorite memory of Myrtle Beach was the championship, playing in that felt like a movie and winning it was even more special”

“One of our families favorite memories was at Ripken Myrtle Beach! It was my son Parker’s first time winning a Home Run Derby. And with his dad as his pitcher! It was a great experience and will always be a fond memory of ours!”
