Old World Craftsmen Nebraska Bringing talented craftsmen together in order to showcase their compentencies and skills.

Old World Craftsmen is a group of men and women who believe that there are various levels of compentencies in the construction trades and that when you call yourself a painter, or carpenter, or mason, although there's not a required license for these trades, you must still provide a certain level of compentency inorder to call yourself a craftsmen! We believe there's 3 levels of competency: Apprentice, Craftsman, and Master--and all of our brothers and sisters are designated as such!

Ok Omaha, who's the best Old Home window guy, you know who! I've seen window companies mis-measure more than not and that's because the estimators are salesmen, not carpenters. My position is if you can't install them, then you shouldn't be measuring them. If you want windows that fit like a glove for a better price than what the window companies will charge you, then call us, we got you Omaha!

Update on our kitchen & baths. We're getting ready to start doing the stellar kitchens & baths that we've done in the past, again Omaha! We still have one of the best out there kitchen & bath designers, cabinet builder, countertop fabricator, tile setter and so on, and it's the same old crew, so I will share some of our past projects over the next day or two just to remind our clients just how good we are at Old Home Kitchens & Baths, send us a text!

These are the orginal rails off of one of our most current masonry jobs. They were set into the concrete deck and stairs, that's how they did it back then and sometimes even still do. We removed them and had them sand blasted. They were in bad shape, you can see at the bottom of the posts in some places they're almost rusted clean through because of being set into the concrete; that's ok though, after the stairs and deck are complete we'll figure out where they should sit, i.e. current run and rise and we'll cut them at those elevations and that should remove the rusted bottoms of the posts, if it doesn't, we'll address that. Then, we weld 4x4" bases onto them with holes in each of the corners, we will then use these to reattach them to the concrete stairs and deck. This is a much better installation method because they can be removed and/or repaired if need be. Finally, a lot of people powder coat them which looks nice at first but then they start to weather and after a few years develop this chalky like finish. We've found by priming them with special metal primer and then applying two top coats of Rustoleum we achieve the same level of finish and almost durability, and if the they ever start to fade or chip the homeowner can head down to their local Ace hardware and get a can of Rustoleum satin black and spruce then right up again! Anyway, have a great week Omaha!
