Customer complaint not enough air. Did a load calculation and found they were short a duct. The install was villainous. Barely taped. They also didn’t install the proper gas kit for being a propane unit. Do better.

First picture is your condenser. Second is the coil. The basics: The condenser dissipates the heat out of the refrigerant and the coil evaporates the heat out of your home. They work together with a refrigeration “loop” to continue this process until your home cools down. These are the most common places for “charge leaks”. These were two separate recent jobs both had leaks but I was able to repair and recharge, getting my client nice and cool!

A recent call where they had a bad txv ( metering device for the refrigerant), and as I’m pulling the unit open I notice this. They installed unit without capping secondary drain line. This has caused a major leak into the lower plenum and rusted the plenum out. Due to the lack of diligence this client has a bigger problem now. I always tell people most systems are the same nowadays it just matters who puts them in.
