I wrapped up the final stretch of my project this morning, feeling proud of the hard work I put in and the fun I had along the way. What's made this experience truly special is getting to know a family member I hadn't connected with much before, and hearing about his fascinating life experiences each week has been incredibly enriching.

Replaced the arm rest leather on my SUV today. Definitely doesn’t look as good as factory but the tear in the old leather was scratching my arm. Hopefully once the new leather gets some sun, it will match the seats.

Shift lever bushing this morning. Without that little piece of white plastic that you see, the car was essentially inoperable, not able to shift out of neutral. Dodge doesn’t sell that bushing either, they make you buy the entire new shift mechanism. Went to O’Reilly’s, knowing they wouldn’t have the bushing that I needed, but lo and behold, they had a “miscellaneous” kit of bushings and I found one that fit perfect. A dealership would have charged at least $400 all in with labor for this job but I only spent $7 on that miscellaneous bushing kit.

Four hour drive and a tank of gas for a ten minute job that doesn’t pay, you’re welcome mom.

Check this out! Cleaned out some flower beds this morning. Had a lot of fun doing it. Gonna take off the top layer of soil and get it ready for mulch and flowers!

Quoted some flower beds this morning! Will post pictures next week from the finished job. Anything labor intensive that just seems too big of a job for yourself or maybe just something that’s worth a little money to have someone else do it, I’m your guy!

Replaced a faulty top post terminal connector for someone that had issues with the car going in to limp mode while driving, had to use wire cutters to cut back the live wire since the last person that did this welded it to a male connector. Big thanks to my very good friend Rex for coming through with a much needed tool for this job
