All our pins are hand assembled by Lucinda’s Designers, a team of artists who work to create one-pin-at-a time. Lucinda pins are then protected and made to last with a special coating, inspected for quality, packed and then shipped from our facility in Portland, Maine.

Did you know I paint expressionist portraits?
This is Isabelle. We met about three weeks ago at her grandparents house. She is a red head through and through. Full of fire and fierce focus. They way she looked at me, made it clear this one was going to stick to her convictions and be a challenger in all things that matter to her in life. The patterned background is wallpaper. I always was looking for new ways to make the pins interesting and endlessly one of a kind. I would search out stores that sold wallpaper and ask to take the outdated books off thier hands. It was so much fun to find a sample that was colorful or intricate in design. And it was recycling and free and that helped to keep the cost of pins low. In the beginning and for a very long time the Pins were $10 with of it $4 going to shelters, temporary housing, habitat for humanity, or soup kitchens.

Domestic Violence Lucinda Pin History 💜
This pin was designed in the mid 1990’s.
The women is facing two directions representing the inner conflict a women wrastles with living in an abusive home, the conflict between staying and leaving.
The child : a witness.
The white glitter dove: Hope, offering the olive branch of peace.
This pin was sold by DV Shelters and homeless shelters all across the US bringing awareness to this social condition.
Not a best seller, but a design that had to be done no matter what. I felt strongly about bringing a statement into the world of behalf of all women who suffered .

check out this gorgeous maroon transition thru the color wheel to it’s opposite green of the deep forest. A little fairy dust glitter makes this little house pin a stand out. The making if the backgrounds of the pins is a whole story. Anyone interested to hear more in a video/ reel? Add your thoughtsughts in the comments .
