I’ve been loving my growing season so far. Octopus Sparkle has made an appearance along with RM cinnamon. My little tree frog has visited again along with these Japanese beetles 😭😭🤬🤬. I’ve had to resort to bagging blooms so I can get photos, which I’ve noticed that the dragonflies and hummingbirds don’t really appreciate. I’ll be using lots more beneficials to improve my soil and try to get rid of this issue in future seasons.

It’s been a week…I’ve been working lots of long hours but this was probably the worst week with working in office and doing 12+ hour days plus I still need to work Saturday. This morning had a moment before leaving to go out to look at the dahlias and this visitor was waiting for me. It made my morning. Then he was there tonight while I was outside fertilizing which made me happy that I don’t use chemicals. Happy little frog can always visit my garden.

I asked a friend, I’ll call her G, about her Negroni Sunset because mine rotted and then my bff’s rotted. G told me earlier this year that Negroni was trying to rot on her, so I thought I’d follow up to see how hers were doing. She offered to send me some unrooted. 🎉🎉 she graciously offered to send some other with it, so I said any of the new KA would be great since I only got Linen. Well she shipped this Monday and they just got here late last night!! No ice, nothing else in the bags just the cuttings, shipped from east coast to Michigan in a heat (oven) wave. I put them in water overnight just a bit in the bag and they’re looking great this morning. G you’re a wonderful dahlia friend thanks for the cuttings!!

Flower farmers that use Shopify - make sure you add the app to your phone and take your phone out to the field for photos. This way you’re not looking through photos at the end of season trying to find pictures you took of that one flower. Also ensures you don’t have a bunch of missed picture day photos. Note you can also add video.
