Best corn in all the land!

We are opening for the season tomorrow, Friday July 24th.

Our hours now for the season will be:
Wednesday Thursday Friday 1-6
Saturday Sunday 11-6

We will be picking corn. We will also have peaches, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers, cucumbers and more.

Corn took a little longer this year due to a cold spring but it’s ready and looks pretty good.

We hope to see everyone soon.

When a client says they want to reuse pavers to make a walkway for the neighborhood kids to be able to safely cut through the yards….

I was able to crank this out in a morning but in doing so forgot to take pics of the initial clear out and also after I had laid the bonding sand, but here’s a sort of before and after.

Shout out to Meyer’s Crazy Hollow Creamery for the business. Was able to clean out and upgrade the garden bed around their sign. I chose to use two types of sedum that we carry (drought resistant) to combat the droughts that seem to be occurring more often these last few years, sedums also bring in pollinators from summer-fall.

We also infused the planting areas with micorrhizae granules from The Soil Makers (endo mix) to ensure the plants can immediately start to interact with the surrounding soil and establish healthy/dynamic root systems.

Invasive Plant/Vine Removal Services

Hey Folks! We are now offering invasive plant and vine removal services for homeowners. If you have vines choking out your trees or outcompeting the native plants in your understory we will come in and cut down and remove the invasives along with treating the runners and stumps in the ground with a buckthorn blaster compound to kill off the plant.

We will be carrying Black Strawberry and Queen of the Night Tomato Plants at starting tomorrow 7/10!

Both are stunning heirlooms with rich, dark coloring.

Black Strawberry T’s are medium to large with a marbled mix of deep red, brown and hues of green. They have a sweet, rich and slightly fruity flavor. Great for snacking and salads.

Queen of the Night T’s are smaller, more uniformly dark (almost black-purple) with a complex, bold, slightly smoky taste. Greats for adding to dishes and salads.

Happy New Year Folks!

We are beginning to focus on a few native tree species - with a handful of Eastern Redbuds, Tamarack / Larch --> (only deciduous conifer in North America) in stock for spring with more saplings coming in April. We also will begin to carry Tulip Poplar, Sassafras and Beech saplings. It's important to consider what you're putting into your yard, native animals and pollinators need native species to make homes within and around in order to thrive. Be purposeful in how you steward your property.
