Always a little scary to pot up the plant babies, but it was time...
Let's hope they all make it! I'm test gardening A to Z peppers this year, and if it works out, I may get to share them in a community garden next year. Can't wait to see what grows well here, as there are just so many different kinds to try! There are a few super hots in the mix, but even the hottest should make some amazing pepper jelly!

Have to admit I'm not a fan of cold and snow. A little reminder of nature's resiliency is helpful when I feel like winter is neverending...
I thought this rose bush had died after last year's big freeze. Instead, it decided to bloom in December! So glad I didn't get around to removing it last year! A nice trim and we'll see how it does in the spring!

Hazel giving the plant babies some extra love...

I have a ton of perennials we are starting this year for the flower garden to be, and the hall is my greenhouse until it warms up. We decided it was safest to keep these on ground level with a 2 year old running around. She just started opening the baby gate by herself, so the plant babies are just getting a bit extra love.

Missing your fresh grown greens? I'm growing greens inside this year, and you can, too! Our new client welcome basket includes some of the things I love to use when starting plants inside. I like seed starting cells which are a bit deeper, so they can grow a bigger before you need to move them to a bigger pot or outside. Our welcome basket includes a nice, deep starter cell tray.
One of my new favorite plants was actually a free seed introduction from Baker Creek Seeds. I probably would never have ordered these on my own, and I was missing out!
Chijimisai is high in Vitamin A, minerals and protein. It tastes similar to spinach, but less bitter, and seems to be much happier than my spinach plants inside (it's too warm for spinach in my house, and they like to bolt).
You can your own seeds direct from Baker Creek, or I can add them to your own raised bed next spring if you would like me to plant them for you!
My granddaughter happily eats leaves of this right off the plant (me, too), and it makes a great addition to salad and green juice. We just cut a few leaves off the outside, and it keeps on growing more!
Shipping is included when you order seeds from Baker Creek, which is amazing when you need just one more packet of seeds mid-season. Or you leave the packet open for small children to sprinkle outside your garden beds.....😉
Baker Creek also carries the Butterfly Pea Flower seeds!
I know this sounds a bit like a shameless plug for Baker Creek, but they've been getting quite a bit of bad press recently, when the gardening world should be a place of love and acceptance. I don't know how you were raised, but I try my best to follow the sage words from Thumper, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Baker Creek brings amazing plants to our mailbox, and support growers all over the world. Baker Creek has opened up a world of amazing new plants to me, and, as you can see, I can't wait to try many more of these seeds in the future! I just love all the plants!!https://www.rareseeds.com/chijimisai?srsltid=AfmBOorQPbEn2bo2DuPUGc2Caqk7UWPDd-eK4f84uFtIHLikdqeRa3hv
