Garvey Plumbing (Matt and Melissa) is sharing a message about an event for a cause that is especially important to them.

From Melissa:

This is an event that is near and dear to our hearts. We run, walk, crawl, it’s the most moving experience, beautiful scenery along the river in old New Castle and a fellowship that you can only experience to understand.

Please consider joining us and being a part of our team “Stronger Now Because of You” in memory of our beloved son Matt Ivey. Matthew lost his battle with addiction 5 years ago and we refuse to let it be in vain. Help us, help others.

When you register to join our team, in addition to your atTAcK addiction swag, you will receive our team long sleeve tech shirt and an invitation to our after party at 💜🌳

Bring your family, bring your friends, bring a stranger, just PLEASE COME SUPPORT THIS CAUSE!

Did you know there was such a thing as Snow Mold? Jake's did 😁

Gray snow mold is a cold-weather fungus primarily affecting cool-season grasses.

Snow mold happens after heavy, deep snowfall before the ground has completely frozen. The weight of that snow, on fragile grass plants and in addition to wintertime moisture, can be problematic.

When the snow melts, if you see straw-colored circular patches, ranging in size from a few inches to several feet across on your lawn, call Jake's.

Our professional staff can evaluate and remediate any damage to ensure your lawn is happy and healthy again.

Did you know foot traffic in the winter is bad for your lawn?

Your grass, even if it is strong, can become weak if the same traffic pattern is walked too many times, so try to avoid walking on it if possible, when it is frosted over.

Who knew there is a correct height for your grass for winter? Jake's Lawn and Landscape Management did 😁

If your grass is too long, it's at risk for disease. The ideal grass height for winter is between 2 inches and 2.5 inches.

This keeps grass short enough to resist disease spread, but not so short that it becomes overly stressed by cold temperatures.
