What helps you find harmony within your soul and warmth within your environment? I rest, I imagine, I flow, I sing, I draw. My observations are carefully steeped, infused in a languid current. Rush has no place here.

There are an astonishing 22 public squares within a one square-mile area in Savannah, GA. Each square has a distinctly magical quality, many anchored by iconic churches and surrounded by 18th and 19th century residential row homes. I went “square hopping”—here are details from several that delighted my eye.

Chippewa Square
Calhoun Square
Madison Square
Monterey Square
Whitefield Square
Pulaski Square
Troupe Square
Lafayette Square
Chatham Square

Yesterday I presented conceptual section drawings for the first time ever, in a commitment toward exploring methods of visual representation and architecture-adjacency in my client (film+graphic) work. Onward and upward.

👆🏻Do you feel this mood? Yesterday I presented conceptual elevation drawings for the first time ever, in a commitment toward being more rigorous in the visual representation and architecture-adjacency of my client (film+graphic) work. Onward and upward.

Really excited to have our video featured on Design to Change, a two-day exchange of compelling architectural design narratives and mentorship put on by the with . A robust design career can take many forms, and I am delighted to see film and narrative strategy take the stage this year.

I love working with design firms and developers of the built environment to craft their stories on video, and the pandemic has highlighted how we need to stay connected—more than ever. Check out leanbydesign.co for your next video project or virtual program planning needs.

🌻News Alert and Ask!🌻 It should come as no surprise that I am a lifelong learner, growing and shifting and photosynthesizing like the wild desert flora, circulating imagination like the winds of change, challenging stagnancy like it’s my job. This time, I’ve really jumped into the unknown, matriculating at for architectural and urban design. To my New York architect/designer/developer network: if your firms are looking to gain a temp designer with a knack for narrative strategy and an interdisciplinary mindset, please pass my info along and get in touch. I am looking to gain experience designing for ecological resilience in an urban context, Spring or Summer 2021. 🍃 Lean by Design will also stay operational for video production, community outreach, research and branding partnerships. 🕊

🌿 b r e a k t h e s i l e n c e. 💥 I have to admit: I have done nothing actively “related” to Lean by Design lately. Much of my off-time has been to deep dive into how spaces can heal through materiality, figure out how to best serve humanity with what I have, and do what I can to study and participate in and anti-racism off-line. Systemic change goes beyond what we see on the surface to the roots laid by our ancestors, the deep wounds we have dug into a land that is *definitely* not ours but claim nonetheless. What is “America” other than the theft and misappropriation of culture, land and color? I was heartbroken by the ICE’s plans to further stem immigration through essentially cutting off international student participation in higher education this upcoming academic year. Diversity is the medicine that can start to heal the festering wounds of our past, yet every effort toward progress on that front is actively being attacked. Anyway. I will be posting here very periodically. I am still open to collaboration via DM, especially storytelling projects aimed toward building strong platforms and audiences for minority voices. In the meantime, keep growing, reflecting, learning, empathizing, and protesting ill political realities. Sending love and peace.
