Progress at PS 095Q in Queens: the project's green roof system has been successfully installed and is now undergoing continuous watering to establish the planting bed.

Beyond supporting sustainability and long-term building performance, the green roof helps satisfy NYC energy code requirements (Local Laws 92/94) enforced by DOB.

A great milestone made possible by the dedication of the entire project team.

The Navillus Foundation Scholarship Program is in its second year. Each year, Navillus awards a total of $36,000 in scholarships, distributed as six awards of $6,000, to support the children of long tenured employees pursuing undergraduate degrees and vocational training. Investing in our people and their families is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back. We look forward to celebrating this year’s awardees later this summer.

A proud day for our team in White Plains.
Last week, the White Plains Hospital expansion celebrated its topping off ceremony, a tradition that marks the placement of the highest piece of structural framing on a new building.
Navillus Contracting is the concrete subcontractor on this project, handling all concrete, masonry, and block work for the new tower that will expand care for the Westchester community.
Thank you to the Navillus crews whose skill and hard work made this milestone possible. Here's to the next phase.

"Safety isn't a slogan on the wall. It's the choice in your hand."
Karan Patel, Super/PM Governors Island

Safety at Navillus isn't one person's job. It's carried by people like Garry Kelly, Jimmy Smyth, and Shane Harte, and reinforced across every role on every jobsite. Labor foremen like Miguel Dumaglia. Scaffold foremen like Victor Carbajal, who makes sure the scaffolds our crews climb onto every day are safe.

Our people are our most important resource. Construction Safety Week ends today. Our crews keep going. Thank you for every shift.

Yesterday we paused. Today we work.
The stand-down matters because it interrupts the routine. But the routine is where safety actually lives.
Pre-task meetings every morning, required of our crews and subs. Daily equipment checklists. Site-specific orientations for every new employee. Training that exceeds what NYC requires: 40 hour SST minimum, 62 hour for supervisors, scaffold certifications as needed.
This is the discipline our safety record is built on. Here's to another year below 1.0.

This is what a Safety Stand Down looks like.
Work stopped on our jobsites this week. Crews gathered. Supervisors spoke. Questions were asked, stories shared. Then everyone went back to work.
For Construction Safety Week, we paused for the conversations that keep people safe.
To everyone who showed up: thank you.

In construction, a company's Experience Modification Rate (EMR) measures its safety performance. The industry benchmark is 1.0, and lower is better.
Navillus's EMR is 0.91. That's three years running below the industry average.
That's not luck. It's the result of thousands of right decisions made by our crews every day.
Safety isn't what we say. It's what the numbers show.

It's Construction Safety Week, and we want to start by sharing what safety means at Navillus, in our CEO's own words:

"Safety has always been our most important responsibility. Since 1987, we've built Navillus on a simple principle: a work environment that is inherently safe. Our people are our most important resource, and every decision we make on a jobsite has to reflect that."
- Colin Mathers, CEO

This week we'll be sharing what that commitment looks like in practice. Stay tuned!
