The massing of is stepped towards Manhattan to maximize views into the city for all residents. This is especially true in the pictured penthouse unit, which boasts floor-to-ceiling glazing and wraparound terraces.

DXA Studio participated with Free Arts NYC 2020 and worked with students interested in a career in architecture. It was a 7 week program teaching them all about architecture and guided them through creating their own buildings!

Our renovation of the famed William Ulmer Brewery has been granted unanimous LPC approval!

The 40,000 sf brewery complex, built in the 19th century, is a quintessential example of pre-prohibition brewery architecture. It is one of the last remaining and best maintained brewery buildings in Brooklyn and was designed by the renowned architect Theobald Engelhardt in 1871. DXA are currently developing a nuanced design approach that will return the existing building to its former grandeur while using some contemporary interventions to celebrate the building’s illustrious history.

The 2019 Metals in Construction Design Challenge asked participants to submit a concept to “create a new urban pathway,” specifically a pedestrian bridge linking Moynihan Train Hall and Hudson Yards. A jury of experts in architecture, engineering, and urban design considered 45 qualifying proposals and named the winner of the $15,000 grand prize: a proposal by New York-based with Silman Structural Engineers titled “The Midtown Viaduct,” a floating pathway whose lattice-like steel structure appears both delicate and durable.
