Our renovation of the Pierce Reading Room at Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library was just awarded a 2026 ABC National Excellence in Construction Award! The project transforms an existing reading room in this 1970 brutalist building into a multi-formatted atheneum for contemporary learning. The design removes exterior concrete panels to bring in daylight and reveal views of the Potomac River. White oak paneling and comfortable furnishings combine to create a warm welcoming environment where students and faculty can access the library’s collections. Central to this reimagined space is a flexible digital scholarship lab with large-format video wall for immersive learning.
Congratulations to the entire team!
