This is the fifth solo photography exhibit presented by Mr. Rosen which portrays the indigenous beauty of the African continent, and more specifically Tanzania and Kenya. A Blue-Ribbon award winner of a National Geographic photography contest, he has exhibited his works in New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and here in Westchester County.

YOU ARE INVITED!

I’m pleased to present Martin J. Rosen’s solo photography show WILD AFRICA with an opening reception Wednesday July 1st from 5:30-7:30pm at the Bedford Playhouse located at 633 Old Post Road, Bedford, NY 10506.

This is the fifth solo photography exhibit presented by Mr. Rosen which portrays the indigenous beauty of the African continent, and more specifically Tanzania and Kenya. A Blue-Ribbon award winner of a National Geographic photography contest, he has exhibited his works in New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and here in Westchester County.

Mr. Rosen’s passion for photography commenced by accident in 1990 when he explored a Nikon instruction manual while devouring a bottle of red wine during the early morning hours before the sun arose. His interest in the African continent emanated from his love of wildlife. A scheduled trip to Africa was cancelled several decades ago due to political unrest in Kenya. This exhibit is the end result of his desire to fulfill his dream to capture the natural beauty of Africa via digital photography.

A resident of Pound Ridge for 27 years Mr. Rosen is an attorney with offices in White Plains, New York, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and former Chairperson of the Family Law Section of the Westchester Country Bar Association. He is an avid tennis player, a reader of historical fiction and non-fiction, a lover of travel which provides the subject matter of his work product, and a former member of the Pound Ridge Human Rights Advisory Committee. He lives here with his wife Lianne Sorkin, has two sons and six grandchildren.

Fade to Blue: In art and in film, blue shifts the mood instantly, softening the edges, slowing the moment, and drawing you in. It holds emotion without demanding attention – quiet, steady, and endlessly deep.

About the Artist: Tricia Caracappa is a local artist from Katonah, New York who creates abstract energetic landscapes - not just to imagine, but to feel. Following the energy of what lights you up is at the core of her work. Inspired by freedom, delight, and the beautiful energy of nature, Tricia’s work invites a shift in perspective toward joy, just like the personal shift she made when she left her corporate career at Morgan Stanley for a creative career. She holds a BS from Providence College, a degree in interior design from Parsons, and is a board member of the Katonah Museum of Artists’Association.
