🏠 Your home is a big investment — and who you trust to work on it matters.

At Johnson & Murphy Construction, we’re not interested in just getting in, getting paid, and getting out. We want to give our customers good advice, do the work the right way, and leave them with something they’ll be happy with years down the road. 🔨

Sometimes that means taking a little extra time. Sometimes it means recommending a different way of doing something. And sometimes it means dealing with the unexpected things that come along with renovating an older home. 😅

At the end of the day, we want to be the contractor you feel comfortable calling again. 🤝

If you have a bathroom, kitchen, flooring, carpentry, or other renovation project you've been thinking about, send us a message. We’d love to come take a look and see how we can help!

🔨 A little behind the scenes of what goes into a bathroom renovation!

Everybody loves seeing the finished product, but some of the most important work is the stuff you’ll never see once the job is complete. 👀

Plumbing, prep work, waterproofing, framing and making sure everything is done correctly before the tile ever goes up — that’s what helps make a renovation last. 💪

We take a lot of pride in not just making a project look good, but making sure the work behind it is done right too. 🛠️

Renovations can also uncover unexpected problems once we start opening walls and floors. When that happens, we work with our customers to find the right solution and keep the project moving.

🏠 Thinking about updating a bathroom or starting another project around the house? Shoot us a message — we’d be happy to come take a look!

🔨 Another one wrapped up!

We recently finished up this new exterior staircase and landing, and we’re really happy with how it came together. 👌

Tight spaces can make projects like this a little tricky, but that’s part of what we enjoy — figuring out the best way to get it done and making sure it’s solid, safe, and built to last. 💪

Whether it’s decks, stairs, framing, repairs, or a full renovation, we take a lot of pride in our work and try to treat every project like it’s our own home.

🏠 Got a project you’ve been wanting to knock out? Shoot us a message! We’d be happy to come take a look and put together an estimate.

We believe the work you don't see is just as important as the finished product. Our goal is to do the job correctly and build something our customers can enjoy for years to come.

Thinking about renovating your bathroom? We're currently scheduling estimates throughout the New Orleans Metro area. Send us a message to talk about your project.

A customer’s washing machine flooded the entire house, causing major damage throughout the home. 💧🏠

We’ve removed approximately 1,250 square feet of damaged flooring, and now the real transformation begins.

What do you think will be going down next? 👀

Stay tuned for the finished result!

One of the most challenging parts of our work is remodeling floors while homeowners are still living in the home. It takes extra planning, patience, and a lot of hard work to keep the project moving while minimizing disruption.

This job involved removing carpet, old vinyl tile underneath, baseboards, and toilets before installing approximately 1,000 square feet of new LVP flooring. Once the flooring was complete, all toilets were professionally reinstalled, secured, and finished with fresh caulk and grout.

It’s labor-intensive, dirty, and time-consuming work—and when people are living in the home, it can be difficult to get good pictures too! 📸😅
But we take pride in doing the job the right way from start to finish. 💪🏠

Hey everyone! 👋

We were recently contracted by Jefferson Parish Transit Authority to remove and relocate signs throughout Jefferson Parish. 🚏

Our crew will be working on this project over the next couple of weeks, so if you see us out in the field, give us a honk and say hello! 👋🚛

We’re grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting the job done safely and efficiently!

People often wonder why quality construction and remodeling work costs what it does. The answer is in the details and the labor that goes into doing the job the right way. 🔨

This is what it looks like removing 50-year-old vinyl flooring that was hidden underneath 25-year-old carpet. It’s a slow, labor-intensive process that takes time, patience, and the right approach to get the surface properly prepared.

The last person didn’t want to take the extra steps—but we believe in doing things right, not just doing them fast.

The work you don’t always see is what makes the finished project last. Quality starts before the new materials ever go down. 🏠

🌱 Fresh Sod Installation in Metairie, Louisiana!

We installed 2 pallets of St. Augustine grass, covering approximately 1,000 square feet. The sod was laid in a checkerboard pattern with clean, precisely cut edging for a smooth, professional finish.

Proper care is essential after new sod is installed:

💧 Water twice daily for 15–20 minutes to help the roots establish.

🚫 Avoid cutting the grass for the first 3 weeks.

✂️ When it’s time for the first cut, set your mower to the highest setting and only trim the tips of the grass. This encourages healthy growth while allowing the new root system to continue developing.

A fresh lawn can completely transform the look of a property—and proper installation and care help ensure it stays healthy and green! 🏡
