When the “small” driveway and sidewalk problem turns into a BIG surprise! 😳🌳

This Metairie driveway was sinking at the apron and through multiple concrete panels. From the surface, it looked like a typical driveway replacement… until we started demo and excavation.

The homeowner had a large Oak tree fall during Hurricane Ida, and although the roots weren’t visible from the surface, they were still very much there. Once we opened everything up, we discovered large tree roots running throughout the yard and underneath the existing sidewalk.

🌳➡️🛠️ Powerhouse Concrete went to work.

Our crew carefully excavated and ground the roots down to an acceptable level, allowing us to properly prepare the area for the new concrete. We then rebuilt the affected areas and transformed this driveway and sidewalk from a sinking, failing surface into a clean, beautiful finished product.

And the before & after is pretty remarkable! 🤯

Most importantly, the homeowner is extremely happy with the outcome. That’s what we love to see!

The old concrete had failed, and after a tree fell, it was definitely time for a replacement! 🌳💥

We removed the existing driveway and sidewalk and installed a fresh, clean new concrete surface.
