"Crab Grabber" Evolution

Thanks goes out to CG Timothy C. for visiting the "Crab Grabber" Manufacturing Facility in New Iberia, Louisiana on May 13, 2020. CG Tim's sole purpose was to inquire about this unique crabbing product. Our visit and conversation was conducted on the front porch leading into the facility where "Crab Grabbers" originated. Get a glimpse and stories first hand from the founder and inventor of the "Crab Grabber" himself. Note: As we say in Cajun Country; "Attrape Crabe; Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler"....

Sorry to inform our Crab Grabber Family and friends that our favorite crabbing venue (Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge located in Grand Chenier, LA) is still closed to recreation activities because of the damage caused by Hurricane Laura last month. However, all is not lost. Pictured is Crab Grabber "crabbing team partner", CG David L. with a large catch of Blue Channel Catfish caught on September 20, 2020 on a local Louisiana bayou. Note: Fried catfish is "almost" as good as boiled crabs with good friends and family...

Sadly, Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge located in Grand Chenier, Louisiana has been closed to all recreational activities including "crabbing" until further notice according to the Department of Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. Hurricane Laura caused extensive damage to the 75,000 acre refuge. Our prayers go to all families that were affected by this horrible storm.

Crawfishing in Montana....Who from South Louisiana crawfish country would have thought it existed! That was the scenario on July 24, 2020 Crab Grabbers Frank H. and Calvin C. decided to try to "snag" a few crawfish on McGregor Lake in the beautiful State of Montana. With two (2) original "Crab Grabbers" in hand baited with smoked bacon, these duo's soon realized the Louisiana's transplant crawfish were "chomping" at the opportunity for a swim in the boiling pot. When all said and done and without a dip net, approximately 87 pounds (Oops 8.7 pounds) of these critters found their way to their final destination. According to these two truthful Crab Grabber individuals, previous Lake McGregor crawfishing excursions yielded crawfish the size of a grown man's fist. WOW...Who would think! Observe the crystal clear mountain water and the gorgeous surrounding scenery to spend a perfect afternoon with a good friend catching Montana's "Mudbugs". So, on your next family vacation, do not leave home without your "Crab Grabbers"....Note: CG Frank H. (shown in video) is a contract jet aircraft pilot and flies a vintage B-17 World War 2 bomber in his spare time around the USA for relaxation.

Who ya gonna call? Nope, not Ghost-busters.....The Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office to unlock our truck's door to retrieve our truck keys while attempting a crabbing trip to Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge on June 22, 2020. Many thanks and lots of appreciation goes to Sergeant Anthony S. (in photograph) and the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office for coming to our rescue. What made this even more funny, we were in my crabbing partner CG David L's vehicle, who is a police officer in Lafayette Parish. All said and done, we ended the day catching 12 dozen medium to large Blue Point crabs in less than two hours at the boat ramp without launching our boat using only 10 Crab Grabbers. The crabs had to be stacked on top of each other for individuals were still catching when we departed. The Rockefeller Wildlife personnel are to be complemented for doing a fantastic job managing the refuge. GREAT JOB....

Crab Net Traps and Crabbing in Louisiana

This YouTube was produced by Grumpyneanderthal on April 18, 2015. Mr. Grumpyneanderthal stated in his video that the Crab Grabber does not come with a leaded weight which was incorrect and was later corrected. Each Crab Grabber does come equiped with a hand poured lead weight. The Crab Grabber Family very deeply appreciate Mr. Grumpyneanderthal for this video and many thanks are in order.

On April 22,2020, my wife; Vanessa, and myself were invited to join CG Janice L. and her husband; CG David L., on a crabbing trip to our favorite and most productive crabbing location, Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. From what we observed, all of South Louisiana's recreational crabbers had the same idea. We were informed by many who were crabbing that they were catching many Blue Point Crabs. In the past, the "Crab Grabber Family" is often ask where to go crabbing so we decided to mark the spot with "Crab Grabbers" where the big crabs are residing. Note: The ladies wanted to advise everyone that they caught this monster of a Blue Point Crab and not their husbands.....

April 14, 2020 was not a good day for Blue Point Crabs. Crab Grabber's David L. and his wife; Janice L. happened upon a new crabbing location at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge where the crabs were large and plentiful. One would think CG David was on a photo shoot for "Crab Grabber" that was to be published in a national wildlife magazine. The "Crab Grabber Family" is most appreciative of CG David and CG Janice's support for "Crab Grabbers" but those 139 large Blue Point Crabs would not say the same when being boiled in a large boiling pot. Note: CG David L. said he practiced social distancing by being the only two at this very secret crabbing location.

Reintroducing Crab Grabber Miss Magnolia; Crab Grabber CEO of Marketing, promoting "Crab Grabbers" at her Day Care School with a "Show and Tell" presentation. What a fantastic and super upper level management officer she has become. With her knowledge of the crabbing industry, sales has exceeded 17,000 distributed across the United States. Miss "CG Magnolia" has plans to open an international headquarter's office in Dutch Harbor, Alaska to serve the North Sea crabbing vessels as those seen on TV's "Deadliest Catch"........

The "Crab Grabber Family" is often asked the question if one can catch Blue Point Crabs during the winter months in South Louisiana. The answer is a definitely "yes".... The attach photograph proves that Blue Point Crabs indeed are available as these large "puppies" were caught on January 24, 2020 in a couple of hours by my crabbing partner; Crab Grabber David L., on a nearby South Louisiana refuge. So, remove the dust off your "Crab Grabbers" and head out to your favorite crabbing "hole" to enjoy consuming dozens of hot boiled crabs with family and friends after returning home. Note: An ice cold adult beverage would make those "puppies" taste a whole lot better if you are over 21 that is!

The "Crab Grabber Family" would like to wish all our friends and neighbors especially all our military veterans, our President, and those military soldiers serving in a war torn country a healthy and happy New Year. On behalf of all Americans, we are supporting and praying for your safe and a speedy return home to your families. The attached photos were taken of "yours truly" during my tour of duty in the Viet Nam War in 1970. "Gods speed my fellow soldiers in 2020."

On September 3, 2019, Crab Grabbers David L. and Odis L. (members of the Crab Grabber Crabbing Team) participated in a national sponsored crabbing tournament in which our team placed first place with a total 9.5 pounds 10 crab limit. This Crabbing Tournament was officially sponsored by the National Crabbing Foundation. By placing first place, we won the honor of a "pat-on-the-back", handshake and bragging rights until 2020. The largest crab weighed over one and a half pounds. Also, this day was the day before the start of the 2019 alligator harvest season with the "Swamp People" were out in full force as indicated in the photograph. However, all the "alligator participants" did not seem to mind all the attention that was given to them. (So it seems by their large numbers that were present trying to steal our crab bait)

This photograph was captured by a fellow military friend; "Crab Grabber" / Major General John B., Retired USAF on July 4th, 2019 in Alice, Texas. The restored military vehicle is a 1972 Viet Nam era Jeep commonly referred to as a "MUTT". Look very closely on the front seat one is able to observe and appreciate a pair of "Crab Grabbers" celebrating our nations birthday. How patriotic.... Also, observe a Two Star General's flag flying with our nation's red and white American flag. Thank you Major General B.for serving our country and being a great leader and friend.

On June 11, 2019, Crab Grabber David L and myself enjoyed a beautiful day of a successful crabbing trip at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. We were astonished to observe a new planet in our universe system that Tuesday in which we immediately named it the "Crab Grabber Planet". How remarkable indeed. We were fortunate to photograph this new planet and to shared it for all of our Crab Grabber Family of this new discovery.

These photos were taken on July 17, 2018 on a successful crabbing outing with my wife to Rockafeller Wildlife Refruge at the Joseph Harbor East Dock boat landing using Crab Grabbers. The end result was a limit of 12 dozen small to medium Blue Point Crabs within 2 hours. So, get out your Crab Grabbers and go crabbing to "pass" a good time with your family and friends.

The Crab Grabber Family had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to meet Dupty Marshal Clay Higgens at the Giant Omelette Celebration Festival on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Everyone present, especially all the women, were so eager to have their picture taken with him (my wife Vanessa included). Crab Grabber is proud to endorse Dupty Marshal Higgens in his bid for Congress on November 8, 2016. Lets show our support for him and get him elected to Congress. We all know him from his numerous television appearances on Crime Stoppers. His videos can be seen on You Tube making our streets much safer in South Louisiana. All of Louisiana needs him to represent its citizens in Washington DC,

This year has not been a good year with all that has happened during the past several months. The downfall of the oil and gas industry resulting in friends losing their employment, the daily 100 degree plus temperatures and the historic flood of 2016. A heartfelt sadness to all of our Crab Grabber families who have been affected. We welcome all our friends to join us once again at the Giant Omelette Celebration Festival in Abbeville, Louisiana on November 5th and 6th, 2016. If nothing else, just come stroll under the large, beautiful Live Oak trees and listen/ dance to some of our great Cajun heritage music. Hope to see all of our Crab Grabber families and exchange stories of catching large numbers of big Blue Point crabs that we are so fortunate to have in our beautiful state...........

05/13/2016

Sad news to all of our Crab Grabber friends. Crab Grabber will NOT be participating at the June 2016 Daylily Festival in Abbeville, Louisiana this year. Currently, our next show will be the Shadows on the Teche in New Iberia, Louisiana in October 2016. At this time, I will like to thank all of our friends who attended the Herb Festival last weekend in Sunset, Louisiana which was our second biggest show since 2007. Miss Vivian, who hosted the Herb Festival is a jewel of a person along with her entire staff. Thank you all.....

This article appeared in the Daily Iberian Newspaper on November 15th 2015 featuring a personal profile.
Many thanks to the staff of the Daily Iberian!

On a beautiful Friday afternoon, Odis Lounsberry was walking into the most extensive of a series of workshops on his property off Old Spanish Trail northwest of New Iberia.

The "Crab Grabber" family will once again participate at the upcoming Giant Omelette Celebration scheduled for Saturday, November 7th and 8th 2015 in beautiful, downtown Abbeville, Louisiana. It has been a very busy year for Crab Grabbers having sold over 14,000 since they were invented in 2007. The "Crab Grabber" family has really grown to expectations never dreamed. A trademark for the name "Crab Grabber" has just been received from the State of Louisiana with Texas and Mississippi in the works. We like to welcome Gulfway Sporting Goods located in Kaplan, Louisiana as a family distributor of "Crab Grabbers". By the way on a recent crabbing trip, the wife and I caught our limit of 12 dozen large, beautiful, full Blue Point crabs near Grand Chenier, Louisiana in just under 2 hours of crabbing off a public bank. So, get your "Crab Grabbers" out and plan a fun and productive fishing trip with the entire family. Looking forward to seeing all our friends at the Giant Omelette Celebration next month under the large and beautiful Live Oaks in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Our youngest grandson learns how to use a crab grabber.
FB only allows visitors to a business site to post one picture at a time. Of course I take lots of pictures. We took the grandkids crabbing for the very first time at the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. We thought they would be bored. They had an awesome time. The adults were ready to leave; the kids were ready to stay. We were introduced to a Crab Grabber. Excellent choice to catch crabs. In the past we used a crab net. Doesn't work as well as a Crab Grabber.
Had a great day crabbing in Hackberry Louisiana...... of course using our crab grabbers. Thank you!!!! Great day
Beautiful! Thank you mr Odis and ms Vanessa!
We went to the Sunset Louisiana Herb Festival last weekend. Weather was absolutely fantastic. Went to the Crab Grabber's booth and hanging Cypress Knees were everywhere. These are awesome Planters. I have 2 of these. The booth was well set up.
