Old Wood Building was started with the purpose of saving and restoring pioneer era buildings from the 1800's.

We specialize in methodically taking down and dismantling barns, cabins, and farmhouses with the goal to rebuild and give them a second life.

Framing going up, tools migrating from room to room, and about twelve things happening at once. Exactly the kind of organized chaos we’re used to.

Fresh stain pulled out every groove, scar, and bit of character that was already there. Darker, richer, and looking mighty good.

Staining is also a pure preference in many cases. We always prefer to use some sort of oil finish but lately have been big fans of Sundance Coatings and their Bourbon Barrel Brown color. Note, this is the darkest it will ever look after freshly applied. Over a couple months is mellows out and looks really natural.

We often use a two part epoxy to fill certain gaps or check on the interior of the cabin. Mixing in these pigments help us dial the look in just the way we want.
