This master bedroom accent wall was created with alternating matte and semigloss vertical stripes, all in the same color: Greek Villa.
The result is subtle, soft, and changes with the light. From some angles it reads almost like a solid wall, then the sheen catches and the stripe pattern quietly shows up. It’s a great way to add detail and interest without making the room feel too busy.
This one took a lot of measuring, taping, checking, painting, and patience, but the finished space was worth it. And of course, Molly made the final reveal even better.

One of the coolest things that’s happened to us in this business! A talented recent client took it upon themselves to create this awesome video (HomePlace Painting theme song and all) capturing the full range of our work, from standard painting to custom details like accent walls, wainscoting, and wallpaper in their son’s room.

We worked together across multiple phases, and it turned into one of those projects where you’re not just showing up to paint, you’re building a real relationship with the family.

🌤️💙Subtle sophisticated sky blue for your tray ceiling!

One of our favorite uses of color is for the center panels of tray ceilings. “Snowdrop” (SW6511) is an off-white with the barest blue undertone. When put into the center panel of a white multi-level tray ceiling, it can give the subtle feeling of an open sky overhead. The rest of the ceiling gets the tried-and-true flat ceiling white, and the multiple layers of crown molding get semi-gloss trim white. This is our variation on the southern American tradition of painting porch ceilings blue, and our clients love it!

Check out our Herringbone Accent Wall, another use of our custom pattern CNC-cut panels. Our clients were ecstatic!

Starting with our client’s inspiration pic, we created the 3D pattern on Sketchup and even made a photo mock-up to help visualize the design and color choice.

We went to Nashville CNC (awesome folks!) to create the panels on 3/8” thick MDF. After priming and a few tubes of caulk, we went with Sherwin-Williams “Let it Rain” (SW9152) as the final color. Our team of expert painters made installation a breeze.
