This is a story of how hiring the right contractor the first time saves you time, headaches, and most importantly Money. In this case, the homeowner knew what they wanted this sloping unusable space to be, and found a contractor who said they could deliver. What they got was a sloping unusable space with a fire pit and a river rock pebble patio. When Doherty Landscaping got there I tore out everything to start from scratch. Built a new retaining wall to create a flat usable space that could be walked on without rolling on pebbles. Replaced the river rock pebbles with a 3 piece Belgard paver and a new more user friendly fire pit. Replaced the two brick walls with Belgard retaining wall that wrapped the ends to hold the raised planting materials in place properly so now the homeowner can plant flowers with the confidence of knowing they won’t wash away. In the end they have a user friendly space where the entire family can gather and relax in comfort and enjoy a warm fire on a cool fall evening.
