🍌 How to Harvest a Banana Rack

When your bananas are full, rounded, and starting to lose those sharp edges, it’s usually time to harvest.

Cut the entire banana rack carefully and bring it into a shaded, protected area. Don’t wait for every banana to turn yellow on the plant — bananas usually ripen better after they’re harvested.

Hang the rack somewhere cool and shaded, or separate it into smaller hands if that’s easier. Over the next several days, the bananas will begin turning yellow naturally.

And here’s an important part: once a banana plant produces its rack, that main stalk will not produce again. Cut it down after harvest and allow one of the healthy pups growing beside it to become the next producing plant.

That’s the beautiful cycle of growing bananas! 🌱🍌
