6’6” round. Took 11 boards and a sweet jig to make it all work. This one came out just how we drew it up.

Our second kid will be arriving in 4 days and Mama wanted a changing table for the first floor of the house. Knocked this bad boy out over the last couple of days. Bring on this kiddo...in what might possibly be the craziest times to be alive we’ll ever experience.

Wrapped up the desk from start to finish in a week. Also got to add the baseball bat flag that and I built when I was at the condo a few years back.

Super pumped with the way that the desk turned out and fits in the room.

The old adage of “measure twice cut once” can take you a far way in DIY projects. But I like to take the detail to the drawing board before I even begin a new build.

I pictured this desk in my head (and on paper) before I even went out to buy a piece of wood. I drew table tops with 2X4’s, 2X6’s and 2X8’s to see which one would look the best. From there I figure out exactly how many boards I could get out of a standard 8’ piece from (you can see at the bottom where I have the overall length of the board and then split it to see how many cuts I could make and what would eventually become scrap.

Plan early and have good results at the end.

What’s a better way to celebrate my dad’s birthday than building something? Nothing.

Moving around a few rooms in my house and making a new office, so of course I needed a new desk to go along with it.

We whipped together this big farmhouse L desk in a few hours. Little sanding, painting and staining and it will be ready for the office.

Thanks for the help and HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Sometimes you have to take a step backwards before you can go forward. This was one of those weekends.

I should have done this 2 years ago but better late than never. I needed to get a wall up in my already finished basement to 1) Keep Oakley out of that part of the basement 2) prevent saw dust and my mess from spilling into the rest of the basement.

My dad and I spent Saturday building the wall, hanging the door and drywalling the area. I still have to take a wall down to expand my shop the other direction but this is a start. Time to clean the mess up and get back to the projects.
