This is Climacium americanum — American Tree Moss — and it's one of the few mosses that actually looks like a forest at terrarium scale.
In the wild, this species does real ecological work — it's used as nesting substrate by the Four-Toed Salamander and by American Robins. That's part of why it's a meaningful pick for naturalistic vivarium builds, not just a decorative one. Link in bio.

It went to space. It came back to life. And now it can live in your home.
Meet the Resurrection Fern — a native air plant that survives total drought by going dormant, then springs back to vivid green the moment it gets moisture. NASA even sent one aboard the Space Shuttle to see if it would resurrect in zero gravity. It did.
No soil needed. Perfect for terrariums, vivariums, driftwood displays, and reptile enclosures. Ships looking brown and papery — just add water and watch the magic happen.

This is my cloning process. I trim a few nodes from the mother plant, dip it into a gel rooting hormone, and suspend them with neoprene cuffs in an aeroponics unit.
Aeroponics gently mists them with room for air. It produces inches of roots in weeks rather than months. Plus when I take a cutting, the first plant sprouts again.
