Today we started improving the footing on a horse riding arena. Your horse is going to beg you to take it over here, so it can play in this one.

Today was a long day to finish up the week, but I am happy to get this job knocked out! We worked all over this just under 7 acre property fixing holes, rough spots, a sink hole, drainage work to fix drainage issues for the shop buildings, seeding and straw for grass. It’s been a busy week and I am grateful for the work!!

By the end of the day we had all the dirt pile knocked down and spread. Rock loaded and moved out (that was interesting), and rough grade-work done. Tomorrow we will fix some drainage issues the homeowner is having around one of their shop buildings during heavy rains. Now we need everything to dry up so we can prep for seed and straw.

Today I am finally getting around to picking up the PARTS to fix the little Ditch Witch machine we have. This is the smallest machine we have. Parts consist of 2 idler rollers, 2 small tracks, and 8 rollers. I will do all the labor to make the repairs needed. Parts cost is $6,303.33. All the parts fit easily in the floor board of the back seat of my pickup truck with exception to the tracks. I get underbid often. That’s not a big deal. There is a reason I charge for the hours on these machines. It’s wear and tear. It services after so many hours. Every hour these machines run it cost me money. Then when one goes down, it cost a lot more money along with downtime.

I have no hard feelings for anyone going with someone else for whatever your reasons are. Some people are less expensive to get their name out, to get practice, to get the seat time and experience, and some have just not experienced the true cost of doing business yet and will learn in time. Whatever the reason. There is plenty of work for everyone. Just do your best for people, work with integrity, and the rest will work out the way it is supposed to. With us receiving more rain yet again today I plan to work in the shop on equipment. I hope you all have a good day.
