It was renewal time for my general contractors license and I have been doing some thinking. When you hire a general contractor for a job. Do you make sure that they are licensed for your project? It’s something to think about. There are different types of licenses that contractors can get. Most have monetary limits (limits to what we are allowed to bid and work within). When researching contractors make sure that they have the correct licensing for your size project.

I am looking to build some houses soon. If you have land that you have been thinking about selling and would like to try and maximize your profits on it. Let’s get together and see if we can work together to make it more profitable.

I got a call a couple weeks ago with someone needing help getting a hole dug for a flag pole. They had been trying and were unsuccessful in getting it to the right depth. I listened to them and they explained their dad was 90yo and served in the military and wanted to fly the flag in his yard. They had tried. Something in me wanted to help. We set a time for me to come and work on it. I showed up, got the hole dug, sleeve in place, concrete mixed and pole set and leveled. I went ahead and test fit their flag and tied the knots in the rope for the flag to mount so they could clip the flag and raise it once the concrete sat up. Today I got a message with a picture of their flag raised proudly. It warmed my heart.

I wanted to share some pictures. Today a customer reached out to me to give me an update on how their yard is doing after we did extensive work to bring it back to life. I wish I had gotten before pictures but they had large dips, high spots, areas that wouldn’t grow grass, and places that needed to be built up after construction projects had been completed. What was left for them made it hard to get any grass to grow, very uneven ground, and a lot to be desired. We brought in top soil, conditioned the existing soil, regraded and raked the backyard area, spread grass seed and then straw. Here is pictures of how I left it April 14th and pics of what they sent me today on May 6th. They did a fabulous job of watering their yard and I am very happy with the results.

Today was a very busy day. We loaded, hauled, and delivered 24 loads of dirt today and took the skid steer and graded the dirt. Filled in a large low area that has been holding water for years and also worked on a few other low areas to bring them up and let the water flow. It was a very busy day but such a nice day to be outside working!!

The word for today is “hauling”.Lil Dumpy is on his 7th load already. Let’s get it!!
