Aging Shut-Off Valves Can Become a Problem
The shut-off valves under sinks and behind toilets are easy to forget about—until you need them. Over time, older valves can become stiff, corroded, or unreliable, especially when they haven’t been used in years.
A failing valve may drip, leak when turned, or fail to completely stop the water during a repair or emergency. Having aging valves inspected and replaced when necessary can help prevent unexpected problems and make future plumbing repairs easier.
