My most recent project was something that I've been wanting to do for a while. With temperatures warming up and people beginning to spend more time outdoors, it inspired me to finally build my first outdoor cooler box - or as I like to call it, my treasure chest for beer :)

I made this the way that I make most, out of beautiful and durable eastern red cedar. I don't have a ton of room on my patio, so I made mine smaller than usual...but then again, I think it'd double perfectly as an outdoor Ottoman. I also built it so that I could remove the cooler inside and empty it when I need to. I'm pleased with the final product - pretty, portable, and useful! What do you think?

Hi guys, sorry I've been absent for a bit!

Spring is just around the corner, and that means it's time to get that yard, patio, or garden in order! Facebook Marketplace will be jam packed with listings for garden planters of all sizes, shapes, and, of course, prices.

One piece of advice I can offer when it comes to your planter search is this - if it seems too good to be true, it is! Many products you see (yes, even the ones that say they're cedar) will be made of inexpensive fence pickets that can be as thin as 1/2" thick. While it's certainly possible these could last you a long time and never give you issues, it's also easily possible that you could be back on Marketplace in a year shopping for another one.

If, instead, you're the "buy once, cry once" type and are searching for something you can be confident will last for years to come, you may want to consider investing in a planter made of high-quality, chemical free materials that are naturally resistant to rot and bugs. I've made several planters of all varieties in the past, and while I'm happy to suit my customers' needs no matter what material they request, I most often make my planters from beautiful red cedar and cypress lumber, ensuring they're free from the chemicals found in pressure-treated construction lumber and fencing.

I'm really proud of the latest charcuterie board I created. Made of walnut, cherry, and maple, this one will look even better once the new owner's name is engraved inside. I've included pictures of some other styles I've made as well, have a look! They make great holiday gifts!

I had so much fun making the last stove cover I decided to try another - this time, I went for a more farmhouse, rustic aesthetic. I traded out clean lines and coloring for a worn-in, "seen some things" look, and I traded the metal handles for some good old rope ones. I made sure to add a message that all of us could relate to at times. What do y'all think? Yay or nay?

My latest request was something that I'd heard of and seen plenty in videos and articles, but had never known anyone in my area to be interested in. Nonetheless, when my sister came to me asking if I could make her a custom stove cover, I couldn't wait to give it a go. I'm really happy with the design I was able to engrave on it, and I think the color came out great as well.

With the holiday season in full swing, a cover like this could add some much needed extra counter space for your family's big food spread, or if you're like me, it could be a cleverly decorative way for you to cover that stove you've been putting off cleaning for a month when company comes over! I took on some new challenges with my latest project, which is a breakfast tray with folding legs, created from ash lumber, that I made for my mom. I hope she enjoys it and gets good use from it, and I made sure to put her nickname on the front so that nobody could come and steal it 😉

Nowadays, most things like this are just fabricated by big machines with no real craftsmanship involved, but believe me when I say that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to putting together something like this by hand.
