Dear Internet,

You used to be such a good friend. You respected our boundaries by only providing us options based on what we asked for. It was SO mind-blowing what a sage you were, and how you helped us find each other when we'd lost touch of loved ones from our past. But now you've turned into a stalker. This constant intrusion of trying to sell us stuff feels rape-y. Please quit it asap. You've gone too far.

To the repugnant, 60 something, white male a-hole still wearing your construction vest who yelled "...c**t" from your truck behind me when I didn't take the yellow light at a busy intersection yest, who then proceeded to intentionally ram into my truck while we sat at the red light, who then raced off when I hopped out of my car to photo you and your license plate, who then pulled over and waited for me to eventually pass you down the road so you could then aggressively whip out to follow me 10 blocks even while I stopped twice to call 911...I understand you might be feeling threatened by all of us holding mirrors up to men like you who believe you have the right to be abusive and dominate just b/c you've gotten away with it for so long, but guess what? We're gonna keep holding up these mirrors until you decide to see and hear how the way you choose to force yourself through the world doesn't work for us anymore. And it won't just be women holding up the mirrors anymore, it's going to be other men, and kids, and entire communities. And it may be sooooooo uncomfy for you, but eventually you'll see that YOU need to adjust yourself to fit into our world. 💪🏽✌🏽

LADIES and GIRLS, how are y'all doing?! I know the bird's eye view of this flood of sexual assault and harassment by men is ultimately hopeful and may lead to healing, but man, all this "admiring of the problem" we're doing can be so re-traumatizing. I feel you, and am sending out love and strength to all my sisters in this. I'm also hoping we move into discussion and action SOON on how to nurture men and boys into doing their work on this.
