As we are facing very cold temperatures already, throughout the rest of the week it does not look like we will get much of a relief from it either. A very good preventative thing to do to try and prevent waterline’s from freezing is to barely open all spigots and have them set to where they are at a steady drip. Pipe insulation and heat tape are another very good option as well. We do not recommend running space heaters under any crawlspace’s as it creates a potential fire hazard to the home. If your waterlines does freeze up and bust we recommend having them repaired before the water was to unthaw because it could possibly cause water damage to the structure of the house. We are projected to have very cold temperatures throughout the night. A safe way to keep your water from freezing is to turn on your faucet’s to a very slow drip to try and prevent frozen lines or water breaks. If waterlines were too freeze and bust call someone immediately to have it fixed to prevent more damage when they was to unthaw. Water damage to a house could turn into a very costly repair. One thing that has been a hit here recently that we have been offering is a crawlspace makeover. If you have old damaged insulation that is causing cold floor’s or higher heating bill’s get ahold of us to come give you a quote to remove all the old insulation and clean out the old plastic and install all new! In the construction world the word crawlspace is a word most doesn’t like to hear because of the tight places and inconveniences, but to us the word crawlspace is the life of your home. A proper insulated crawlspace and the proper v***r barrier will save you the cold floor’s, save on heating cost’s, will keep the crawlspace from having mold issues.
