🎃⚡️Halloween decorations can add up fast! Between the lights, inflatables, and all those spooky displays, it's easy to put more demand on your electrical circuits than you realize.

Here's your reminder before decorating:

🔌 Don't overload outlets or connect extension cords end to end.

⚡ If a breaker keeps tripping, don't keep resetting it. Find out what's causing the problem.

🌧️ Make sure outdoor electrical decorations and extension cords are rated for outdoor use and protected from wet conditions.

⚡️ A little behind-the-scenes of what we've been working on.

We've been putting in some work on a project that requires quite a bit of trenching to get the electrical where it needs to go.

There's a lot more to an electrical installation than what you see once everything is finished. Sometimes it means digging, measuring, planning the route, getting the right depth, and making sure everything is installed properly before the ground ever gets put back.

Before you hire someone to do electrical work, take a few minutes and do your research.

Ask for their TECL number. Look it up.

You can check electrical contractor licensing through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation:

We've been seeing more and more people offering electrical work without the proper licensing, especially on social media, and we really want to encourage homeowners to do their homework before hiring someone.

A TECL isn't just a number. There are requirements that have to be met to legally perform electrical work, and that's there for a reason.

We know that when times get tough, saving a little money upfront can be tempting. We get it. But with electrical work, the cheapest option isn't always the cheapest option in the long run.

We installed the exterior meter and emergency disconnect, along with the interior panel to get the building set up with the electrical service it needed.
