Residential Home Build Series | Part 1: Site Preparation & Concrete Footings
We start our residential home build series with site preparation and the installation of concrete footings for this slab-on-grade home.
Step 1 – Bringing in Fill: The property sat below the desired building elevation, requiring additional fill to raise the ground level.
Step 2 – Spreading & Grading: The fill was spread and graded to establish the proper building elevation. This step is critical for creating a stable building area and promoting proper drainage away from the home.
Step 3 – Footing Excavation: Once the site was prepared, we excavated for the footings according to the foundation layout and required elevations.
Step 4 – Concrete Pour: Concrete footings were poured to create the structural base that will support the foundation walls and distribute the weight of the home into the ground.
Step 5 – Footings Complete: With the footings finished, the project is ready to move into the next phase of construction.
