Coming 2027 to North Seattle! A CONE Architecture designed, Island Crest Builders built custom single family residence with an attached accessory dwelling unit (AADU) and a detached accessory unit (DADU), on a beautiful lot near Northacres Park.

We’re thrilled to break ground on this one! The main residence brings clean lines and warm wood accents, while the two ADUs, smaller standalone or attached living spaces, are built with the same attention to detail. Permits are approved, demo is complete, and foundation pouring has begun. Stay tuned as we get to work building this gem.

Catching a little afternoon light ✨

In this recently completed primary bathroom, hexagon mosaic sets the base, layered with a custom border pattern. Just around the corner, Carrara marble takes over in a diamond mosaic, paired with classic subway tile for a clean contrast.

File that tells a story, and makes the space feel entirely its own.

Meet the appliance garage: a hidden storage feature designed to keep small appliances tucked away without sacrificing function ✨

Behind these custom bi-fold doors, everyday tools like the toaster, kettle, and coffee maker stay close at hand but out of sight, keeping countertops clear and kitchens looking effortless. It’s a detail we’re seeing more and more in custom builds, and for good reason: it lets homeowners keep the clean, uncluttered look they want while still having everything they use daily within reach.

Secondary baths and powder rooms show the same attention scaled down: antique dresser-style vanities, hand-selected wallpaper, arched wood-framed mirrors, and mosaic tile work that turns even the smallest room into a design moment.

The primary bath is a masterclass in mixing materials — herringbone Carrara marble floors, subway-tiled walk-in shower, and a rich walnut vanity with unlacquered brass fixtures that will age beautifully with every use. Dual oval mirrors and warm sconce lighting turn a functional space into a retreat.

Beautifully crafted to achieve every detail and built to last.

Pivot doors are having a moment, and we get why!

Unlike a traditional door that swings on side hinges, a pivot door rotates on a concealed pin at the top and bottom, usually offset a few inches from the edge. That offset lets the door be much larger and heavier than a standard entry, solid wood slabs included, without sacrificing a smooth, effortless swing.

Why we love them:
🔹 They can be bigger. A larger, taller door isn’t just for looks for a home with a dramatic entry or tall ceilings, it helps the scale feel right and creates more of a moment when you arrive. Pivot hardware makes that possible without the door sagging or getting hard to open over time.
🔹 Clean lines. No visible hinges means a more minimal, architectural look.
🔹 Durability. The pivot hardware distributes weight more evenly, which means less wear over time.

Installation takes precision, as the pivot system has to be set into the floor and header before framing is finalized, and the door itself needs to be perfectly balanced so it swings true.

So if you’re thinking of including a pivot door in your next design, let us help you make the process smooth. Shoot us a DM to learn more!

The kitchen anchors this Mercer Island home in warm, transitional elegance: floor-to-ceiling custom cabinetry in soft greige tones, brushed brass hardware, and a custom walnut island with fluted paneling that feels more furniture than fixture. Carrara marble countertops and a farmhouse apron sink bring in classic texture, while the handcrafted Scottish tile backsplash adds just enough personality to keep things from feeling predictable.

Quiet luxury, built to last. Every inch of this kitchen was crafted, not just installed. Swipe to see the details that make the difference.

This custom built curved staircase is one of the most striking features of this remodel and addition…

This curved staircase was a complex element to build. The geometry was carefully engineered, the framing built to follow a precise radius, and the plaster wall shaped by hand on site. The handrail was bent to follow that same curve, and every detail landed exactly where intended.

Framed by floor to ceiling windows, it became a piece of sculpture and a focal point for the home.

This is our most recent mid century modern remodel — a Mercer Island home restored and remodeled from the ground up.

This guest house’s exterior is finished with Shou Sugi Ban (also known as yakisugi), a traditional Japanese technique using controlled charring to preserve the wood. 🪵

The char protects against rot, pests and fire without any chemical treatments, while giving the siding a deep, textured character that only comes from heat and time.

It’s a thoughtful material choice that holds up for years to come.

Curious about incorporating a sustainable material like Shou Sugi Ban into your own remodel? Send us a DM!
