Paint Memphis is a one-day festival that brings together over 100 artists to paint the largest collaborative mural annually. We will ask artists to adhere to certain guidelines, including no profanity or profane/gang images. Website: paintmemphis.org

This event will change the landscape of our city and encourage artists and Memphians to see this most public form of public art. As a rotating palette with guidelines painted onto one of the panels, this wall would set a precedent and move both this neighborhood and Memphis graffiti writers away from illegal and gang tagging to a canvas that showcases their talent. In addition, is an innovative way to bring in this neglected neighborhood into the city-wide initiative to see the improvements in art, sports, urban development, government, education, and spirit that are evolving. If you would like to donate (yes, even small donations are welcome), here's our website: paintmemphis.org
Here is a link to a Prezi presentation (it takes a few minutes to load) to show you examples of permission walls, such as this one in other cities. At the bottom, you will see four pictures of the flood wall with local public murals transposed for an overview of the scope of this project. http://prezi.com/qiyiw0owuios/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy&rc=ex0share
