Historic Home Fire | Vero Beach, FL 🔥
Last Friday, we completed a contractor assessment of this historic Vero Beach home following a devastating fire.
One thing that stood out immediately was the quality of the original construction. The solid wood doors helped slow the spread of the fire, protecting portions of the home. The original wood lath ceiling system beneath the plaster is another reminder of how these homes were built to last.
As contractors, our job is to look beyond the obvious damage and identify what others may miss. 🔍
During our assessment, we discovered significant fire damage throughout the attic that was not readily apparent during the initial walkthrough. Once we investigated further, it became clear that the scope of repairs was substantially greater than the homeowner originally believed. 💰
We’re now working behind the scenes with the homeowner, along with the public adjuster and attorney we recommended, to ensure the full extent of the damage is properly documented. After a loss like this, homeowners are often overwhelmed and unsure where to begin. Our role is to provide experienced guidance, assemble the right professionals, and help ensure nothing is overlooked so the homeowner can pursue the full insurance benefits they’re entitled to.
Our goal is not only to restore this historic home, but also to preserve its original architectural character and craftsmanship hile returning it to its former character.
