🎉 In October, We Celebrate Three Years of Kairos Construction Group!

Three years of building, renovating, and serving homeowners across the Greater Knoxville Area!

From kitchens and bathrooms to whole-home renovations, we've had the privilege of helping families create spaces where life happens and memories are made.

Our name, Kairos, comes from a Greek word describing the right or appointed moment in time (a "Kairos moment"). It reflects our belief that God brought together the right people, experiences, and opportunities at the right time to build something greater than ourselves.

To every homeowner who has trusted us with their home, THANK YOU! We know how much your home means to you, and we are honored that you've invited us into such an important part of your lives.

We're grateful for the relationships we've built, the families we've served, and the amazing team that makes it all possible.

🔨 Kairos Office Renovation Update! Big Things Are Taking Shape!

We're making progress on our new Kairos headquarters, and we're excited to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what's happening!

Right now, we're working on the basement floors, applying an epoxy primer as part of the preparation for the finished flooring. This important step helps create a strong bond between the concrete and the final floor coating, setting the foundation for a durable, long-lasting surface.

But this renovation is about a lot more than creating new offices.

We're building a place where people can come together.

Our new space will give our growing Kairos team a place to work and collaborate, but we're also designing it to welcome the people who are such an important part of what we do.

We envision a space where our tradespeople and project partners can meet, customers can come in to discuss their renovation plans, and local businesses and community members can connect through networking events and gatherings.

Hospitality is one of our core values at Kairos, and we want that to be reflected in the way we use this building. We're creating a space that supports our team, strengthens relationships, and opens our doors to the Greater Knoxville community.

We're looking forward to our grand opening in January and can't wait to welcome you inside!

🏡 A Historic Knoxville Home, Built for Its Next Chapter

We’re excited to be finishing up this renovation of a beautiful historic home just a few miles north of Downtown Knoxville!

This project touched nearly every part of the house. On the exterior, we repaired and refreshed siding, porch surfaces, windows, and trim, preserving original materials wherever possible. Inside, we installed new hardwood flooring, repaired and refinished doors, improved lighting and electrical, refinished the stairs, and completed painting and repairs throughout the home.

The bathrooms also received some great updates. We addressed plumbing and repair needs throughout, while the upstairs bathroom received new plumbing fixtures, a black countertop, shower glass, updated lighting, and a backlit mirror that added a clean, modern touch while still working with the character of the home.

One of the standout features was the custom trim and millwork. We recreated Craftsman-style profiles to match the home’s historic details, including new baseboards, window trim, casing, and jamb work. Rather than using off-the-shelf materials, each detail was designed and stained to complement the original woodwork and feel like it has always belonged in the home.

Older homes come with plenty of quirks and surprises, and that’s part of what makes projects like this so rewarding. It takes careful problem-solving and craftsmanship to improve how a home looks and functions without losing the character that has been there for generations.

🏡 From Exterior Repairs to Outdoor Living: Making the Most of the Space Around Your Home

We’ve done a lot of work on this Louisville home, and this latest project brought us back outside.

Earlier work on the home addressed wood rot and failing exterior materials. That meant replacing deteriorated trim, choosing materials better suited to East Tennessee weather, waterproofing exposed wood, and refinishing the exterior with longevity in mind.

Most recently, our team tackled another important piece of the home: the outdoor trellis. The original trellis had deteriorated and needed to be completely removed. Rather than just taking it down, we rebuilt it to match the original design and dimensions, preserving the look of the home while improving how the structure will stand up to the elements.

The new trellis was fabricated, treated for water resistance, stained before installation, and carefully installed back in its original location. Once it was in place, our team completed the final touch-ups to make the new construction feel like it belonged with the rest of the home.

Outdoor living spaces are an extension of the home. Porches, decks, trellises and gathering spaces have to look good, but they also need to be able to handle years of sun, rain, moisture and changing seasons.

That’s why the details behind the finished product matter: the materials we choose, how we protect them, how we build them and how the new work connects with the existing home.

👑 Happy Birthday to the Queen of Kairos, Catherine Hiltner!

Catherine carries the heart of so much of what we do at Kairos Construction Group.

She is a fierce leader, an advocate for people, and one of the driving forces behind the culture we’ve worked so hard to build. She remembers the details. She asks the hard questions. She handles all things HR. She makes sure people are cared for, heard, challenged and supported. And when she believes in someone, she will go to bat for them all day.

So much of the way we serve our customers and care for our team has Catherine’s fingerprints on it. She knows that how we treat people and the work we do matters, and she helps make sure that belief shows up in the way we do relationships and how we build houses everyday.

Catherine, we are so thankful for the way you lead, the way you care, the way you advocate for people and the strength and leadership you bring to Kairos.

🏌️‍♂️ Teamwork for a cause that matters.

Last week, the Kairos team traded the jobsite for Topgolf to support the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation and its work serving kidney patients across our region.

We believe being part of East Tennessee means investing in more than the homes and spaces we build. It means showing up for the organizations working every day to make our community stronger and healthier. ❤️

And of course, a little friendly competition never hurts. Teamwork matters on the jobsite, in the office and apparently on the driving range, too!

We were proud to come together as a team and support a great cause right here in East Tennessee!
