Dear Friends,
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes. Today, I am 3 weeks from my heart attack. I am doing better each day. Bill is taking great care of me here at home along with some home health care , P/T, and nursing. I am so thankful to God who has allowed me more time on this earth. He has something else for me to do! Again, I feel the love and prayers from all of you. Thank you so much.

Just heard from Monica M. that Alice Woods passed away yesterday. Funeral arrangements will be posted when available. Alice would have been 95 in February. Our sympathy goes out to her girls and all the family. She was such a kind lady.

Dear Friends,
It is with a very heavy heart that I report another loss to the AJC family and friends. Virginia notified us that Randy has passed away suddenly. She and Jaimie are on their way to Florida. Please remember the Gunderson Family in your thoughts and prayers. Any more news will be reported as soon as it is available. Rest in peace, Randy. We will miss you greatly.🙏

Dear AJC Friends,

After much thought, prayer, and discussion with many of the reunion attendees we have come to a painful decision. We think that the reunion this year should be postponed until Spring at the earliest. None of us knows what the future holds with this virus, but hopefully a vaccine will be available around the first of the year and the situation will settle down.
Bill and I hope that all of you are well and staying cool during this very hot summer. We thought the virus would die in the heat…doesn’t seem to be happening!
Please visit our FB page and let us know how you and your families are doing. If you have suggestions for the reunion location in the Spring, please let all of us know. Traveling is getter harder for all of us.
God Bless all of you and your families!

Love,
Bill and Pat

Lynda and Lee received this email from Barbara Rassier today. It is said news. Please keep Barbara in your prayers. :

I regret to have to tell you that Jim has passed away. He died on February 25, 2020. Don't know if any of Al Johnson family have heard.

He started going down last year and lost from 180 to 124 in a matter of months. I called an ambulance in Sept 2020, and he had aspiration pneumonia. He had surgery to have a feeding tube in his stomach. From Sept to Jan 27 he was back and forth between the hospital and the nursing home and then came home under hospice care. He only weighed 114 lbs when he left the nursing home on Jan 27. He had a lot of things wrong but his death was from his heart.

Hope everyone is well during this crazy time. Please post and let us all know how you are doing!

Happy Easter to all the AJC family. I am sharing an email from Alison Peick. Please pray for healing for Tom.
Hey Monica,

I wanted to let you all know about what's going on with the Peicks and to
request prayers. We have had a very traumatic 4 weeks. When Tom returned to
Idaho Falls March 10 (I think you knew he was on a temporary assignment up
here?) after a long weekend at home with me and Caitlin and Peter in CA, he
very suddenly began experiencing lack of mobility in his arms and
numb/tingling feet. He was admitted to the ER and had brain and spine MRIs,
mkg, spinal tap and nerve conduction tests. He was diagnosed with
Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Over the next 2 weeks he would be released and
readmitted 2 more times as his condition continued to deteriorate with
numbness spreading from his chest down and extreme weakness and inability to
stand. He received 9 IVIG treatments with no results. On Friday March 27 we
requested a transfer to a larger hospital. Tom was accepted at and
transported that night to University of Utah acute Neuro center where he
would receive 5 plasmapheresis treatments over a 10 day period. He finished
the treatments Sunday, and was moved to the Physical Medicine and Rehab
floor yesterday afternoon. They are anticipating that he will spend 26-30
days in acute rehab.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster, but we are praying for a positive
recovery. He went from totally healthy to being immobile within 10 days. His
upper body strength has returned, and on Tuesday he was able to pull himself
to standing on the parallel bars from the wheelchair.

The hard work begins today. He will have PT, OT, etc. for a minimum of 3
hours a day 7 days a week. Tom is up for it and he is hopeful!

I am going to stay here in Idaho Falls at his apartment as there is no
visitation at the hospital.

Please share this with the "Al Johnson Old-timers."
