Solid Craft Construction

New casement windows are now in place at this Lake Lanier home, replacing old, leaking windows and opening up clearer views of the lake.

This window-and-door phase is part of a larger renovation we are managing for the home. By addressing the exterior openings first, we can make sure the home is protected and the next stages of work are built on a sound foundation.

Large renovations do not always happen all at once. A thoughtful, well-managed plan lets homeowners move through each phase with clarity while keeping the larger vision in view.

One of the most important parts of a remodel happens before construction ever begins.

We recently spent time on-site with our electrical trade partners walking through the plans, looking at existing conditions, and working through the best approach for the electrical scope.

Why do this before construction?

Because getting the right trades involved early helps us identify potential challenges, develop a better plan, and build accurate pricing before work begins.
Our goal is to answer as many questions as possible on the front end so we can provide our clients with a clear scope and a fixed-price construction proposal, rather than figuring everything out as we go.
We’re thankful for great trade partners who bring their experience to the table and help us build better projects.

A new roof was only part of the work on this project.
Before installing the new roofing, we worked through the exterior of the home repairing rotten fascia and soffit that needed attention. From there, we painted the wood surfaces, installed the new shingle roof, replaced the counter flashing where needed, and finished the project with new gutters.

A lot of exterior projects are connected. There isn't much value in putting a new roof on a home while ignoring deteriorated wood, flashing, or other issues around it.
Our goal was to take care of the problems that were there and leave the homeowners with an exterior that looks good and is ready to protect the home for years to come.
We're proud of how this one turned out.

By the end of Design & Development, our goal is for homeowners to have clarity.

Not just a rough idea.

Not just a ballpark budget.

Real information you can use to make confident decisions before construction begins.

That typically includes:

• A clearer design direction

• Floor plans and project documentation

• Material and finish selections

• Trade partner and engineering input

• A detailed scope of work

• A realistic project investment

The more decisions we can make before construction begins, the smoother the project tends to go.

One of the most common questions we hear is: "How long will our remodeling project take?"

The answer depends on the project, but construction is only part of the process.

Before construction begins, there is planning, design, material selections, trade partner coordination, permitting, budgeting, and project preparation.

All of that work helps create a clearer roadmap for the project and allows construction to move forward with fewer unknowns.

Every project is different, but the smoother projects are usually the ones that were planned the best.

One of our goals during planning is to identify as many unknowns as possible before construction begins.

That's one reason we spend so much time in our Design & Development phase.

During planning, we're helping clients work through things like:

• Design direction and floor plans

• Material selections and allowances

• Trade partner and engineering review

• Detailed scope development

• Realistic project investment

No remodeling project is completely free of surprises, but the more questions we answer upfront, the smoother the project tends to go.

Our goal is to help homeowners move into construction with a clear plan, realistic expectations, and fewer unknowns.

One thing we've learned is that most remodeling problems don't start during construction.

They start before construction.

A lot of homeowners are eager to get started, which is understandable. But the projects that tend to go the smoothest are usually the ones where time was spent planning on the front end.

That's one reason we've built a Design & Development phase into our process.

Before construction begins, we work through things like scope, budget, selections, and potential challenges so there are fewer surprises later.

The goal isn't to slow the project down.

The goal is to help homeowners move forward with confidence.

This Marietta home got a full roofing upgrade, and it’s built to last.

✔️ Architectural shingles for durability & curb appeal
✔️ PVC fascia upgrade (no more rot or repainting)
✔️ Improved ventilation for long-term performance

Less maintenance. Better performance. Cleaner finish.

That’s how we approach every project - quality work, clear communication, and no shortcuts.

See how a roof replacement in Marietta improved both durability and curb appeal by installing architectural shingles, upgrading to low-maintenance PVC fascia, and addressing ventilation for long-term performance.

This project was about more than just a remodel… helping this family get their home ready before bringing their baby home.

After water damage impacted the entire first floor, we worked closely with these homeowners to address the root cause, coordinate remediation, and restore the space with thoughtful updates throughout.

All completed in time for them to bring their new baby home to a safe, fresh, and functional space.
