🏆 2026 AIBD American Residential Design Awards Winner for the Category:
Renovation – Unbuilt

We're honored to share our second nationally recognized project by the American Institute of Building Design.

This coastal renovation was inspired by resilience. After Hurricane Helene flooded this single-story residence, the design challenge became much more than restoring what was lost; it was about preparing the home for the future.

Our solution centered on a single concept: Elevation.

Rather than rebuilding the home's primary living spaces at grade, every conditioned living area from the original main floor was elevated to a newly constructed second level. The new floor system is supported by its own independent structure, allowing the existing lower-level walls to function as breakaway walls in the event of future storm surge. This approach not only improves the home's long-term resilience but also helps protect the spaces where life happens most.

Great design isn't just about creating beautiful homes, it's about solving complex challenges with thoughtful, lasting solutions.

We're incredibly grateful to the American Institute of Building Design for recognizing this project, and to our clients who trusted us to reimagine what their home could become.

🏗️ Progress is taking shape at our Buckhead Residence!

One of the most exciting parts of this attic transformation is seeing the vision become reality. Framing is now in place for the Golf Simulator, Movie Theater, and Hidden Speakeasy with a Secret Passageway that ties it all together.

It's incredible how a once-underutilized attic can be reimagined into a series of immersive spaces designed around our clients' lifestyle. While there's still plenty of work ahead, these milestones offer the first real glimpse of what's to come.
