Even on a trip to New Orleans, we can't help but pay attention to all the beautiful paver work and be amazed at how it has withstood the test of time.
Sidewalks, roads, driveways, courtyards, even a railroad crossing with the tracks running right through the pavers. They're everywhere there, much more than we see here.
Some spots are a little worn, but years and hurricanes later, the whole system is still holding up.
