Tree trimming should happen now!

Due to the unseasonably warm winter, we're starting to approach the degree days needed for oak wilt to become a threat. For any landowners that have been thinking about trimming up oak trees, or having someone trim their oaks, we recommend doing this sooner rather than later, to err on the side of caution. Don't forget that your local Forestry Assistance Program Forester is a great free source for providing some guidance about your forests or answering your tree health questions! If you're in ISN's service area, contact the Manistee Conservation District (for Manistee County) or the Leelanau Conservation District (for Benzie, Leelanau, and Grand Traverse Counties) to find your local Forester!
