A new General HVAC Solutions America, Inc. From the R.E. Michel Company by RedneckRepair HVAC

Customer had an old single zone Sanyo system here servicing just the living room area. They wanted to add a second unit for the master bed room. There was no good way to get the lines there so I dug a hole and buried them. I sleeved them with pvc pipe to keep the dirt off the lines and to also protect them from anything else. Sealed both ends to prevent critters from living in there. Replaced the original lines with a new set and installed new indoor units. Job came out pretty nice I think.

Some repairs from recently.

A bad neutral connection in main disconnect of the house. Caused some damage to appliance from over voltage issues. 1 leg coming in was running 180 volts rather than 120 volts.

An air handler struggling to achieve enough air flow. Low suction pressures and freezing coils. Fabricated a small plenum to get better air flow over the evaporator coil.

A washing machine failing to pump.

Making a solution for another installers mistake

Installing an outlet for a sump pump.

Its been busy havnt had much to post lately. Hoping to get back to posting again.

This job is wild 1 minute im a plumber the next im an electrician then maybe some hvac. Mix in appliance repairs and its alot to tackle. Havnt been putting in anything new lately so here are some pictures from repairs. They are not as exciting as new shiny things but a few fun ones.

1st set is a sneaky solder joint causing an intermittent no heat. This one would only happen every few days at complete random. Took a few minutes to find but it couldn't hide from me. No jeed to replace a expensive control just for a cracked solder joint. Cleaned up re solder and back in buisness.

The next set was a different story though,

This customer had another company install the boiler and water heater. The old water heater was leaking sonit needed to go. The boiler seemed like they were bullied into buying it because the other company wouldnt change an expansion tank due to the age of the boiler 😒 granted the boiler was old and could be replaced it was functioning just fine.

Anyway the problems started after the new system was installed. Sense the install the boiler sounded like a jet engine taking off in the house, an easy fix though the boiler was just over fired and needed a tune up. Yes brand new oil unit from the box require a tune up. The real problem was the water heater would not run sense day one. The other company spent days with no luck until they were kicked off the job.
Tempers flared between the owner and the company and I don't blame the owner at all. There was a major oil leak that caused the house to smell the high he'll (i did not witness this) the house did smell though.

After I arrived and identified the problem within a few minutes based on the sound of the water heater i found the supply fuel line was completely plugged with sludge causing not enough fuel to get to the burners. How they could not find this very simple problem is beyond me. Either way I cleaned the lines fixed the kinks in the brand new line they installed and tuned the systems and now everything runs as it should.

Moral.of the story its not always the size of the company that matters its the give a s**t of the people doing the work. Make sure you find someone that gives a s**t about their work.

Call me at RedneckRepair HVAC i give a s**t about what im doing.

A Bradford White Water Heaters from the re R.E. Michel Company

This customer was taking up to 8 hours to recharge the old water heater. They had a schedule set up so with times for dishes, showers and bath times. They finally got fed up with all that and decided to upgrade the water heater.

No hot water is recharged in about 30 minutes and most likely pretty difficult to actually run out of.

Did the larger capacity tank heated to a higher temperature and then mixed down with a valve to get more capacity from the tank. Now they shouldn't need to worry about schedules for hot watet use again.

Just because you didn't sell the furnace to the customer doesnt mean you have to do a bad job for them.

This owner bought their own used Rheem furnace from market place to replace an old furnace that they were told was bad. The company there couldn't really tell her what was bad on the furnace just that it wasn't worth fixing. I looked over the furnace and for be 20+ years old is was in ok shape. I did find which part was causing the issue and that is was no longer offered by the manufacturer. There was an upgrade to the furnace but was far too expensive. We opted to move forward with the swap out.

She was told that the company could not install the furnace she had purchased and she needed to purchase a new one from them.

After an inspection of the new used furnace i found no major defect with it. So i installed the new used furnace for her. There was a slight issue with a drain trap that I fixed and it worked perfectly fine with no other issues.
