Another basement framing project completed in one day.

This project included rigid foam insulation along the foundation walls, framing the new basement room, storage and utility closet framing, door openings, and framing around the existing basement conditions.

We always aim to provide quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and a smooth experience from the first meeting through completion. Receiving a review like this after the job is exactly what we strive for.

Thank you to our customer for trusting MKG Framing LLC with the project — and for taking the time to leave such a great review. We look forward to coming back for the next phase of the basement!

Another framing project completed in Rye, NH

This third-floor space was opened up following remediation, giving us full access to the existing floor system. The homeowner brought MKG Framing in to reinforce the floor framing before the electrical, insulation, and subfloor phases move forward.

We sistered 18 existing floor joists, working to reinforce the structure while bringing the floor as close to level as the existing conditions allowed.

Two days later, the framing portion is complete and the space is ready for the next phase.

We appreciate the homeowner trusting MKG Framing with the project — and we’ll be returning once the other trades are finished to continue with the next stage.

Joist Sistering & Floor Framing Repair — Dunbarton, NH

Have sagging, bouncy or uneven floors? Sometimes the problem isn’t the flooring — it’s the framing underneath it.

This Dunbarton project involved deteriorated existing floor framing that required sill plate replacement, joist sistering and framing repair. New framing was installed to replace damaged material and reinforce the existing floor system where needed.

MKG Framing handles joist sistering, sill plate replacement and floor framing repairs for damaged, weakened or deteriorated framing in existing homes.

If you’ve noticed soft, sagging or uneven floors—or discovered damaged framing in your basement—we can take a look and determine what framing repairs may be needed.

A good example of the kind of projects we love taking on.

This homeowner is doing portions of his renovation himself and bringing in the right trades for the parts he wants professionally handled. This project was a day-rate framing job — completed in one visit and ready for the homeowner to move on to the next stage.

We’re currently booking more projects like this: small renovations, framing and carpentry projects, repair work, and those jobs that need an experienced set of hands for a day or a few days.

You don’t need to have an entire remodel for us to be a good fit. If you’re tackling a project yourself, coordinating your own renovation, or simply have a smaller project you’ve been trying to get completed, reach out and tell us what you’re working on.

Older homes were built to last — but decades of moisture, settling, renovations, and everyday use can take a toll on the framing that supports them.

Rotted sill plates and rim joists, deteriorated beams, damaged floor framing, and older joists that need reinforcement are all issues we encounter in existing homes.

Sometimes the solution isn’t a major renovation. The right framing repair can make a significant difference.

Sistering existing floor joists can strengthen compromised or undersized framing and help improve the support beneath a floor. Damaged sill plates, rim joists, beams, and other structural framing can often be selectively replaced or reinforced while preserving the surrounding structure.

At MKG Framing, this is the kind of work we enjoy — solving framing problems and making thoughtful, quality repairs to the structure that’s already there.

We specialize in smaller-scale framing and structural repair projects, including:

• Rotted sill plate & rim joist replacement
• Floor joist repair & sistering
• Beam replacement & reinforcement
• Subfloor replacement & repair
• Structural framing repairs
• Framing for renovations & remodels

If you own an older home and have soft or uneven floors, visible rot, previous water damage, damaged framing, or an area you’re already opening up for renovation, we’d be happy to take a look.

Quality framing. Thoughtful repairs. Built to last.

Serving homeowners in Manchester, Bedford and surrounding areas of Southern NH.

The best framing is the work you’ll never see.

Once the drywall goes up, no one sees the straight walls, solid structure, or careful planning behind it. But that’s where quality begins—and it’s where we believe there’s no substitute for doing things the right way.

At MKG Framing LLC, framing isn’t just our trade—it’s our passion. We believe the work hidden behind the drywall should be just as impressive as the work everyone sees.

That’s why we regularly attend New Hampshire Building Officials Association (NHBOA) training seminars focused on framing practices and building code updates, and proudly maintain our membership with the New Hampshire Home Builders Association. We believe that investing in continuing education is part of our responsibility to every client who trusts us with their project.

We’re not interested in being the biggest framing company. We’re interested in being known for quality, precision, and craftsmanship that stands the test of time.

Whether we’re framing an ADU, addition, garage, renovation, or another custom project, our goal is always the same: build it right the first time.

We’re grateful for every client who places their trust in us, and we’ll continue earning that trust by approaching every project with honesty, integrity, and a genuine passion for our craft.

Staying Ahead of New Hampshire’s Building Code Changes

Matt recently completed 6 hours of continuing education through the New Hampshire Building Officials Association (NHBOA), participating in a seminar covering the significant changes from the 2021 International Residential Code (IRC) to the 2024 IRC.

As New Hampshire transitions to the 2024 code cycle, this course focused on understanding the specific code changes, the reasons behind them, and how they affect residential construction, permitting, inspections, and compliance in the field.

Topics included updates to:

- Building requirements
- Energy code requirements
- Mechanical systems
- Fuel gas requirements
- Plumbing requirements
- Electrical requirements

Many of the projects we perform—including additions, garages, structural framing, farmers porches, and renovation framing—require permits and inspections. Staying current with code changes helps us better understand evolving requirements, communicate more effectively with building departments, and keep projects moving smoothly from planning through final inspection.

One thing we especially appreciate about these seminars is the opportunity to learn directly alongside building officials, inspectors, plans examiners, and other construction professionals. Building officials frequently encourage contractors to attend these programs, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from the professionals responsible for administering and enforcing the code.

Matt is often one of the few contractors in attendance at these educational events. We believe investing time in continuing education is an important part of delivering quality workmanship and professional service to our customers.

Thank you to the New Hampshire Building Officials Association and instructor Rich Truitt for providing valuable training opportunities that help strengthen our industry and improve the quality of residential construction throughout New Hampshire.

Quality craftsmanship starts with knowledge, and learning never stops.

Before & After Deck Transformation – Concord, NH

This customer’s existing deck frame was still structurally solid, but the original painted PT decking and railings had become heavily weathered over time.

Instead of a full tear-off and rebuild, we resurfaced the existing structure with:• Gray composite decking• New white PVC railing system• PVC skirtboard wrap• New composite stair treads

The result is a clean, low-maintenance deck makeover with a completely updated look while keeping the original framing in place.

If your deck frame is still in good condition but the decking and railings are showing their age, resurfacing may be a great alternative to full replacement.
