From foundation to finished home. ๐Ÿ 

This modern home I worked on in 2023 achieved "Built Green" certification through several high-performance features:

Solar Power: Installed an advanced solar package for renewable energy.

Cool Roofing: Used a light-colored, reflective roofing membrane to reflect solar heat, significantly reducing cooling costs.

Hyper-Local Sourcing: We prioritized local suppliers and manufacturers who utilize local raw material sources. By keeping the supply chain close to home, we significantly reduced the carbon footprint associated with long-distance shipping.

Native Landscaping: Utilized drought-resistant, native plants to limit water consumption.

Stormwater Management: Increased the lot's permeable surface area with permeable pavers, keeping stormwater on-site and protecting nearby lakes and streams.

Healthy Interiors: Utilized low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) adhesives, finishes, and paints to ensure superior indoor air quality.

Premium Envelope: Installed high-performance windows and exterior doors, paired with advanced air sealing and insulation.

We are proud to be a Wisconsin Focus on Energy Trade Ally!

Homes built and certified under the Focus on Energy New Homes Program outperform homes built to the code standard by at least 30%.

In the program, we partner with a Building Performance Consultant to have our homes tested and rated to ensure compliance with the program's requirements.

Some of the measures taken to build at this higher standard include:

-Using high-efficiency furnaces and air conditioners.
-Increasing insulation values in walls, ceilings, foundations, windows, and doors.
-Air sealing the home to prevent unwanted drafts and energy leakage.
-Utilizing premium air exhaust equipment to remove stale, moist, or polluted air and replace it with fresh, clean air.
-Installing tankless, heat pump, or other high-efficiency water heaters.
