This small kitchen renovation in Beverly is officially complete!

We started with an older, compact kitchen that needed a more functional layout and a fresh new look. Working within the existing space, we installed new cabinets, a new countertop, sink, dishwasher, and tile backsplash to create a kitchen that feels cleaner, brighter, and much more functional.

Small kitchens can be challenging because every inch of available space matters. Careful planning and attention to the details allowed us to make better use of this area without changing the footprint of the room.

The result is a simple, clean transformation that gives this small kitchen a completely new feel.

Staircase Transformation Complete | Saugus, MA

Another project completed in Saugus!

This staircase started with carpeted steps and an open side with no railing or balusters. We removed the carpet and upgraded the staircase with new red oak treads, white risers, a new oak post and handrail, and white balusters.

We also installed a new wall-mounted handrail on the opposite side, providing additional support and making the staircase safer and more comfortable to use.

The combination of natural oak and white finishes gives the staircase a clean, updated look that works beautifully with the existing home.

A great example of how a relatively small renovation can completely change both the appearance and functionality of a space.

Staircase Upgrade in Progress | Saugus, MA

Another project currently underway in Saugus.

We removed the old carpet and are upgrading this staircase with new solid oak treads for a cleaner, more durable finish.

But this project isn't only about appearance. The original staircase had an open side with no railing or balusters. We're adding a new post, handrail, and balusters to create a safer, properly enclosed staircase while giving it a completely updated look.

The oak treads are going in, the railing is taking shape, and we're getting closer to the finished transformation.

Another exterior repair completed on the North Shore.

The existing fascia on this Lynnfield home had deteriorated significantly from years of moisture exposure. Once the damaged material was removed, we were able to properly repair the area and install new fascia for a clean, solid, long-lasting finish.

The before-and-after shows what a difference replacing deteriorated exterior wood can make — not only improving the appearance of the home, but also helping protect the structure behind it from further water damage.

Another Wenham project officially completed.

This exterior renovation started with aging siding, deteriorated wood trim, and several areas that needed attention before the new finishes could be installed.

• Replacement of rotted wood trim with durable PVC trim around the house
• New bay window installation
• New metal roof over the bay window
• New exterior door
• Proper weatherproofing, flashing, and preparation throughout

From the work hidden behind the siding to the final trim details, every stage was completed with long-term durability in mind.

The finished exterior gives the home a fresh, clean appearance while replacing many of the high-maintenance and deteriorated components that were causing problems.

The Transformation Is Taking Shape | Wenham, MA

The siding installation is underway on our Wenham exterior renovation, and the transformation is really starting to come together.

After completing the preparation and weatherproofing, installing the new bay window and metal roof, and replacing the deteriorated wood trim with PVC, we’re now installing the new siding across the front of the home.

This is the stage where all the work underneath begins to show in the finished appearance—but what matters just as much is what’s behind it: proper preparation, flashing, drainage, and weather protection.

We’re getting closer to the finish line, with more siding and final trim details still to come.

What We Found Inside These Porch Columns | Swampscott, MA

📍 Swampscott, Massachusetts

This project started with one porch column.

Once we opened it up, we discovered that the decorative column base was built from hollow 3/4-inch pine boards. There was no structural framing inside the column to transfer the roof load down to the footings.

In other words, the decorative pine box was never intended to serve as structural support, yet it had been carrying the weight of the porch roof for years.

After rebuilding the first column, the homeowner asked us to inspect the remaining columns. We found the same condition throughout the porch.

Our repair included:

✔ Temporarily shoring the roof to safely support the structure during construction
✔ Building a new structural support system inside each column to properly transfer the roof load to the footings
✔ Wrapping the new column bases with solid PVC sheet material to eliminate seams and help prevent future water intrusion

So far, we’ve rebuilt five columns, and we’ll be returning next year to replace the remaining columns and porch railings.

A porch column should do more than look good—it should safely support the structure above it. That’s why we focus on what’s behind the finish, not just what you can see.

Another major milestone completed on our Wenham exterior renovation.

The new Andersen bay window is fully installed, the custom standing seam metal roof over the bay window is complete, and all of the preparation work is finished.

With the structural work, weatherproofing, windows, doors, and trim details completed, the home is now ready for the final phase—the installation of the new siding.

Exterior renovations are built in stages. Every layer beneath the finished siding is just as important as the finished appearance, ensuring the home is protected for years to come.

The new Andersen bay window has been installed, the new entry door is in place, and the PVC trim details are beginning to bring the project together.

While the finished siding will ultimately draw the most attention, proper window and door installation are some of the most important parts of the project. Flashing, weatherproofing, and trim details all play a critical role in protecting the home from water intrusion and ensuring long-term performance.
