I found 5 different species of insect in one milkweed planting this morning! This is why native plants are important—they protect biodiversity just by being themselves! Insects pictured: monarch butterfly caterpillar (pollinator); lacewing insect eggs (lacewings eat aphids & other pest insects); ladybug (also eats aphids); Assassin bug (big time pest predator); milkweed beetle (pollinator).

On this incredibly rainy afternoon I want to shout out gardener Phil who had been growing his FIRST VEGETABLE GARDEN in containers while also building a terraced bed with me. We had two big wins this week, with a first harvest and completion of the garden bed (progress photos later). I’m so happy to be growing along side Phil and cannot wait to plant a fall garden.

Happy Fri-YAY! In November of 2025, I installed my very first pollinator garden in a friend’s backyard. This morning they sent me this text and photos and it’s absolutely made my day!

A little night harvest! My personal gardening has been happening with the sunset recently to try and stay out of the heat. Last night I pulled up the rest of my beets which were intercropped with the tomatoes. If your looking to grow more of your own food, invite me over (early!) to talk gardening!

Mid-summer in the garden is a treasure hunt! My kids had the best time digging up purple potatoes while I harvested garlic. Growing veggies with kids is the best way to get them to eat (or at least try) vegetables. I love working with whole families to plan & grow vegetable gardens. If your family is ready to eat more veggies, schedule a garden coaching session! Late summer is the best time to plan then plant a fall garden!

Chicken update! A few weeks ago, I rescued a chicken from Seneca Golf Course. We spent a few days trying to integrate her with my existing flock, but there was no more room in the coop according to my ladies. So the chicken was re-homed to an animal rescue where she’ll get lots of love and affection until she finds her forever home.
