We’re looking for experienced and skilled Directional Drilling Operators, Locators, and Laborers to join our team in the utility construction industry. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role, perfect for motivated individuals seeking long-term work with a respected, growing company.

Job Responsibilities:
Directional Drilling Operators:
* Operate and maintain directional drilling rigs for utility installation and repair
* Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment during jobs
* Work closely with locators and laborers to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate installations
* Follow strict safety protocols and industry best practices
* Maintain proper documentation of work performed, materials used, and site conditions
* Prior experience with HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) is preferred
Locators:
* Accurately locate underground utilities using electronic locator systems
* Collaborate with drillers and operators to ensure precise drilling and utility installation
* Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance on locator systems
* Strong knowledge of utility construction and underground infrastructure
* Attention to detail, ensuring all utility installations meet compliance and safety standards
Laborers:
* Assist with setup and breakdown of construction sites, including directional drilling equipment and materials
* Assist operators and locators as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations
* Perform manual labor tasks such as trenching, backfilling, and installing utilities
* Follow safety guidelines and company protocols
* Assist in general construction tasks, ensuring high-quality results
Qualifications:
* Experience in utility construction, construction, directional drilling, or similar industry is preferred
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Strong focus on safety and quality in all aspects of work
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable transportation to and from job sites
* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for Operators (CDL a plus)
* Knowledge of underground utilities, safety regulations, and construction practices is a plus
