We were so happy to spend last Friday afternoon with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) as they celebrated their new gymnasium at Thomas Jefferson Senior High School in Los Angeles.

More than just a place for play, the gymnasium is an investment in Los Angeles students. School leaders described the facility as a place that will shape lives. From the moment they walk in, students are inspired -here, they are able to reach their full potential.

Career and technical education (CTE) programs focus on problem-solving, mimic real-world work environments, and offer more engagement than a traditional classroom. These programs have been very popular at the high school level for years, could middle school be the new front line for career and technical education?

The popularity of CTE programs at the high school level has steadily increased over the years, and we are now seeing a similar rise at the middle school level.

Brad Glassick and Kyle Schertzing recently spent some time with a group of Palomar College Architecture and Interior Design Departments students. They had a chance to meet with the class, learn about the program, and review student portfolios. They even met with one of our summer interns, Faith Sun!

We love attending portfolio reviews and seeing the innovative ideas the next generation of architects and designers are developing. We look forward to working alongside them in the future.
